Educational Review August 2003 B. More information The first case of gustatory sweating (see below) was described in 1757 by Duphenix, but it was not until 1923, when Lucja Frey started http://allergyadvisor.com/Educational/Aug03.htm
Extractions: A 5-month-old boy presented with red blotches on the left side of his face, extending from the corner of his mouth to a little past the ear. The blotches were not raised or swollen. The mother described the reaction as starting close to the ear and spreading in the direction of the mouth. The "rash" did not seem to itch or burn (the child did not try to scratch the area), and the area was also not flaky. The rash would appear within minutes after the child had 2 or 3 teaspoons of certain foods and would disappear within an hour. The mother had introduced solid foods into her son's diet at 4 months of age. While still breastfeeding, she started him on rice cereal, maize cereal and then commercial bottled fruit and vegetables. This is when the rash started appearing. She decided to discontinue the bottled food and give him fresh fruit and cooked vegetables instead of the commercial ones. The reaction still occurred. Food allergy was suspected. The foods that the boy was reacting to were commercial "Butternut," "Carrots" and "Peaches and Apples." Also problematic were fresh mashed banana, fresh mashed mango, cooked plain potato and cooked plain sweet potato. He did not react to rice cereal, maize cereal, cooked plain gem squash, ice cream, dried meat (biltong/jerky), softdrinks or rooibos tea.

Underarm Sweating gustatory sweating (typically isolated to a small portion of the forehead in reaction to spicy foods) has occurred in a minimal number of cases. http://www.handsweat.com/faq.html
Extractions: The success rates are outstanding using our technique. For palmar sweating the success rate is nearly perfect at 99%. Facial sweating is eliminated 95% of the time and 90% for facial blushing. The success rate for axillary (underarm) sweating is approximately 80-85% but this condition is best treated if the patient has palmar sweating as well. In addition, plantar (foot) sweating is usually reduced in 50% of patients. Recovery from this surgical procedure is very quick. Most patients are out of bed and walking approximately 1-3 hours following surgery and return back to the hotel within hours after the surgery. Work duties may be resumed within 1-2 days and patients can engage in exercise regimens within 7-10 days.

It can be normal (physiologic) brought on by physical activity, emotional response, or high environmental temperature or a symptom of an underlying disease (pathologic). Considerations Return to top In most cases, sweating is perfectly natural, especially asa a result of exercise or hot tempereatures, or if something has happened to cause an emotional response (anger, embarrassment, nervousness, fear, or anxiety). If sweating is accompanied by fever, weight loss, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, or palpitations, other physical causes should be considered. Common Causes Return to top Environmental temperatures Fever (often triggers sweating to cool off the body) Menopause Overactive thyroid gland (the hands shake, the hair thins, the skin is smooth, and the pulse is fast)
Extractions: Seventeen patients with non-infectious chronic cystitis (NICC) (9 with interstitial cystitis, 6 patients with radiation cystitis, 1 with chemocystitis and 1 with lupoid cystitis) were treated with electromotive administration of intravesical lidocaine and dexamethasone followed by hydrodistension of the bladder. Complete resolution of symptoms for an average of 7.5 months was observed in 11 patients (65%), partial improvement in 4 (23.5%). In this series no complications occurred. Electromotive drug administration (EMDA) and cystodistension were well tolerated by all patients. The treatment was performed on an outpatient basis, thus reducing therapeutic costs. The results presented demonstrate that the combination of EMDA and bladder hydrodistension is an effective first-line treatment for NICC patients. C. R. Riedl, W. A. Hübner, H. Pflüger:

However, one must also bear in mind that there may be musculoskeletal pain both from the original underlying spinal problem and also as a secondary feature due to muscle tension in response to unalleviated pain. So there may be a variety of different types of pain experienced. Autonomic Nervous System Gustatory Sweating Kitchen: Oneida Flight 53-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Service for 8 - I purchased a set of this flatware for my first house. I bought it for the versatility. It is classic enough for everday use, while still looking elegant for formal dining. In the 7 years I have used them, I have NEVER had a problem with craftmanship. Highly recommend this brand and style (espeically at this price). :) Kitchen: Oneida True Rose 53-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Service for 8 - Oneida brings the same lovely design and balance of its silverware to its stainless patterns. The set I've used for more than 30 years still looks great; the traditional pattern has harmonized with a wide assortment of dinnerware. The size of each piece is ideal: nice long knife blade; good distinction between dinner and salad forks; rounded edges that feel good in the hand. (After using these you start to notice that some other stainless utensils don't have as nice a feel, size, or color.) This set will retain beauty and quality the you can enjoy "everyday" for years to come.
