This site is dedicated to Two-Stroke enthusiasts world wide. I will be featuring photos of restorations and rebuild/overhauls on selected models, mainly the ones shown below, as I am doing the work. Each bike will be left posted until the photos are ready, then step by step pictures will be accompanied by text. You can e-mail me if you for details if you missed a step, in the future I will create an archive for each project. Currently, at the bottom of the page, we are doing a 1985 RZ350N restoration, which will include engine, fuel system, and fork seal replacement. The RD400D engine overhaul(done previously) will be next. My hope is that this assists those of you out there, who like me, had no help learning this stuff. MY BIKES

The Stroke interface allows a object to obtain a Shape that is the decorated outline, or stylistic representation of the outline, of the specified Shape . Stroking a Shape is like tracing its outline with a marking pen of the appropriate size and shape. The area where the pen would place ink is the area enclosed by the outline Shape The methods of the interface that use the outline Shape returned by a Stroke object include draw and any other methods that are implemented in terms of that method, such as drawLine drawRect drawRoundRect drawOval drawArc drawPolyline , and drawPolygon The objects of the classes implementing Stroke must be read-only because does not clone these objects either when they are set as an attribute with the setStroke method or when the object is itself cloned. If a Stroke object is modified after it is set in the context then the behavior of subsequent rendering would be undefined.

What is a stroke?
A stroke is sometimes called a "brain attack." A stroke can injure the brain like a heart attack can injure the heart. Stroke is the result of cerebrovascular disease - disease of the blood vessels in the brain. There are two types of stroke:
  • Ischemic stroke, the most common type of stroke. This type of stroke happens when there is a sudden lack of blood flow to some part of the brain, usually due to a blood clot blocking an artery or blood vessel. Often the artery is already clogged with fatty deposits ( atherosclerosis Hemorrhagic stroke. Bleeding in the brain from a broken or leaking blood vessel causes this type of stroke. A hemorrhagic stroke may be due to an aneurysm
Either type of stroke can cause brain cells to die. This brain damage may cause a person to lose control of certain functions, such as speech, movement, and memory. Like a heart attack, a stroke is an emergency and should be treated as quickly as possible.

Passive smoking and an increased risk of acute stroke
E DITOR Although "passive smoking" may be intuitively harmful, the paper by Bonita and colleagues on the risk of stroke and environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) exposure suffers from two fundamental defects. The first is the enormously disproportionate effect due to a small exposure, and the second is the lack of allowance for confounding variables, especially diet. Serum cotinine concentrations have recently been determined at the US National Center for Environmental Health using the most sensitive method to date of high resolution gas chromatography with mass spectrometry.

Dehydration and Heat Stroke
The danger of dehydration and heat stroke:
Dehydration and heat stroke are two very common heat-related diseases that can be life-threatening if left untreated. What is dehydration?
Dehydration can be a serious heat-related disease, as well as being a dangerous side-effect of diarrhea, vomiting and fever. Children and persons over the age of 60 are particularly susceptible to dehydration. What causes dehydration?
Under normal conditions, we all lose body water daily through sweat, tears, urine and stool. In a healthy person, this water is replaced by drinking fluids and eating foods that contain water. When a person becomes so sick with fever, diarrhea, or vomiting or if an individual is overexposed to the sun, dehydration occurs. This is caused when the body loses water content and essential body salts such as sodium, potassium, calcium bicarbonate and phosphate. Occasionally, dehydration can be caused by drugs, such as diuretics, which deplete body fluids and electrolytes. Whatever the cause, dehydration should be treated as soon as possible.

Patients usually show signs of abnormal blood pressure, stroke, blood abnormalities, disease of the large blood vessels in the neck, and disease of the heart valves. Other prominent features of the disease include urinary incontinence, difficulty walking, clumsiness, slowness of conduct, lack of facial expression, and speech difficulty. These symptoms, which tend to begin after the age of 60, are not always present in all patients and may sometimes appear only as a passing phase.

Stroke in infancy and childhood occurs in 1 in 4000 infants and seven per 100,000 children each year. This makes stroke in children more than twice as frequent as brain tumors in children. Researchers at the University of California - San Francisco Department of Neurology are concerned that infant stroke is severely under-recognized . Because of age-related differences, data from adult stroke studies is not very useful for infants and children. We must increase research into the cause and risk and benefits of treatments of infant and childhood stroke Children and infants who have a stroke may experience hemiplegia (a form of cerebral palsy)
