We took her to the neurologist and her diagnosis was 1. cortical dysplasia involving the right per-sylvian region with broad gyri which are diminished in number associated with thickened cortex. There is deep enfolding of the cortex with a deep sulcus which nearly reaches the lateral ventricle. While this is reminiscent of closed lip schizencephaly, a thin band of white matter separates the enfolded gray matter from the ventricular body. 2. Absence of the septum pellucidum. 3. The optic chiasm and nerves appear to be within normal limits for size. She is now 5 years old and only has a lack of motor skills involving her left arm and leg.
