Prostate Problems Facts and Statistics
The doughnut-shaped prostate gland surrounds the urethra (the tube that carries urine and semen through the penis) and is located below the bladder. This gland produces semen, which works to keep sperm lubricated and mobile, and aids the bladder in the flow of urine. After a man hits puberty, his prostate gradually grows from roughly the size of a small marble to about the size of a golf ball. Around age 50 and due to a variety of factors, his prostate begins to grow again. This increased growth can cause a variety of problems, most commonly Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) or an enlarged prostate, prostatitis, and even prostate cancer.

It will reveal that American Medicine has remained 30 years behind most third world countries in the prostate health field and that the focus on antibiotic treatment should be: how do I get more blood into the infected areas of the prostate and how do I break loose encapsulated bacteria? The information contained herein is based on significant research on line and personal experience. Untested theories are presented and will be noted as such. Definition
Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland, a common condition in adult males. Often caused by infection, prostatitis may develop rapidly ( acute ) or slowly ( chronic Description Prostatitis may be the symptom-producing disease of the genitourinary tract for which men most often seek medical help. About 40% of visits to a specialist in genitourinary problems (urologist) are for prostatitis. Forms of prostate inflammation include acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis and inflammation not caused by bacterial infection. A painful condition called prostatodynia , which may be caused by abnormal nerves or muscles in the region, is also thought to be a form of prostatitis. The chronic bacterial form is sometimes experienced by men whose sex partners have a bacterial infection of the vagina, making this a sexually transmitted disease. Other cases occur when small stones form within the prostate and become infected. Sometimes infection is caused by poor hygiene, surgical procedures, or even swimming in polluted water. The sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea may sometimes cause prostatitis, and

Prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate gland. Inflammation causes swelling of the gland and can cause local pain. Prostatitis does not increase the chances for a man to develop prostate cancer. Where is the prostate gland?
The prostate is a small organ about the size of a walnut. It lies below the bladder (where urine is stored) in front of the rectum and surrounds the the tube that carries urine from the bladder (urethra). (See the illustration below showing the prostate in relation to other structures of the genital and urinary system.) What is the function of the prostate gland?
The prostate produces a thick fluid that becomes part of the semen. Semen is the white fluid that contains sperm. How frequent are prostate problems?

Prostatitis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate gland . Because women do not have a prostate gland, it is a condition only found in men Protstatis may account for up to 25 percent of all office visits by young and middle-age men for complaints involving the genital and urinary systems . The term prostatitis actually encompasses four disorders:
  • Acute bacterial prostatitis is the least common of the four types but also the easiest to diagnose and treat effectively. Men with this disease often have chills, fever, pain in the lower back and genital area, urinary frequency and urgency often at night, burning or painful urination, body aches, and a demonstrable infection of the urinary tract, as evidenced by white blood cells and bacteria in the urine. It is treated with an appropriate antibiotic. Chronic bacterial prostatitis is also relatively uncommon. It is acute prostatitis associated with an underlying defect in the prostate, a focal point for bacterial persistence in the urinary tract. Effective treatment usually requires identifying and removing the defect and then treating the infection with antibiotics. However, antibiotics often do not cure it. Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome is the most common but least understood form of the disease. It is found in men of any age; symptoms go away and then return without warning. Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome may be inflammatory or noninflammatory. In the inflammatory form, urine, semen, and other fluids from the prostate show no evidence of a known infecting organism. In the noninflammatory form, no evidence of inflammation, including infection-fighting cells, is present.

http://www.dr-walser.ch/prostatitis.htm
Triggerpunkten in anderen umliegenden Muskeln entstehen. Dabei wäre v.a. der M. Adduktor magnus abzuklären und zu therapieren (mittels myofaszialer

prostatitis. prostatitis is often described as an infection of the prostate, but it can also be an inflammation with no sign of any infection.
http://www.clevelandclinic.org/health/health-info/docs/1900/1962.asp
Prostatitis Prostatitis is often described as an infection of the prostate, but it can also be an inflammation with no sign of any infection. Symptoms include chills, fever, pain during urination or difficulty urinating. The three types of prostatitis are: Nonbacterial prostatitis: When no definite infection can be identified, the condition is called nonbacterial prostatitis. People with nonbacterial prostatitis often have signs of inflammation in their urine (discovered by examining the urine under a microscope), but no bacteria are found. Acute bacterial or infectious prostatitis: A sudden bacterial infection characterized by inflammation of the prostate. The symptoms are usually severe. Acute bacterial prostatitis requires prompt treatment, as the condition can lead to bladder infections, abscesses in the prostate or, in extreme cases, completely blocked urine flow. In some cases, acute prostatitis requires hospitalization. Chronic (long-lasting) prostatitis: This is the most common form of the disease, usually caused by bacteria. In fact, chronic prostatitis is the number one reason men under the age of 50 visit a urologist. In some cases, chronic prostatitis follows an attack of acute prostatitis. Chronic prostatitis may also be associated with other urinary tract infections. The primary symptom of chronic infectious prostatitis is usually repeated bladder infections. What causes prostatitis?

Prostate Center Enlarged Prostate Quality Indicators Prostate Cancer Prostatitis, or inflammation of the prostate, has a variety of causes ranging from stress to bacterial infection. When the prostatic ducts become inflamed, irritated or blocked for any reason, prostatitis may develop. The three types of prostatitis are: nonbacterial prostatitis; acute bacterial prostatitis; and chronic (long-lasting) prostatitis. Prostatitis can affect men of all ages. Some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by an enlarged prostate and include the frequent urge to urinate, yet difficulty in doing so. Prostatitis can also be accompanied by chills and fever and by pain or burning during urination. Symptoms and the underlying condition may be treated by medications or other means. If an infection is the cause, medication can usually resolve the problem. Certain patients with prostatitis may have an obstructive prostate and may require a transurethral incision of the prostate (TUIP).
