Posing Ivy, Everywhere You Want To Be (SHNS) - It has been dubbed the most prolific and despised weed known to man. Where people go, poison ivy follows. It thrives in disturbed areas like empty city lots, roadsides, and at the edge of woods. Poison ivy is a people plant. In all probability, there's more of it today than in the past. "I treat patients with poison ivy close to every day," says Dr. Clark Julius, a dermatologist with the University of Tennessee Medical Center. "People can get it all year round. The chemical isn't destroyed by freezing that is, it's still in the vine in the winter months." The weed along with its close cousins, poison oak and poison sumac belongs to the cashew family, whose tropical and subtropical members include the mango and pistachio. The identifying characteristics of poison ivy scientific name Toxicodendron radicans read like a wanted poster: three leaflets, clusters of white fruit that grow in the summer and a hairy vine. For all its ubiquity, poison ivy is often misidentified. The leaves of young box elder trees look similar, as does Virginia Creeper. And then there's poison oak a similar-looking trifoliate with the same chemical irritant as poison ivy except that it inhabits the sandy soils of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, not the richer soils of Mid-America.

Poison Ivy-Journals That Sting
Homepage
This is a webring for online journals written by women and men whose words don't pander to the timid. They can be sassy, angry, psychotic, funny, or depressed, but these journal writers don't censor their feelings. Please, no fictional journals, and no complaints about the ideas/views expressed in other journals. To be blunt, you don't like it, you don't have to be a member. If you want to join the Poison Ivy webring, there's a few requirements. One
Your online journal must have been up for at least a month. Two
It can't be any run-of-the-mill journal. There has to be a certain vivaciousness, lifesting, if you willin your writing. Three
You need to put up the HTML fragment before your site will be inserted into the ring. Four
It must be pleasing to the eye (no eye-burningly bright colors, broken HTML, and some semblance of structure), and fairly easy to navigate. Five
You must be 18 or over. Exceptions will be made if your writing demonstrates that your maturity is at least at that level. Exceptions, however, are few and far between. Six
You must update at least once every couple weeks or so. If I notice you haven't updated in a month, I'll move your site to the queue. If I don't get a response, and a couple months go by without any updates, I'll remove your site from the ring. At any time, after I have removed your site for lack of updates, you may reapply (assuming you've resumed updating).

There are a number of people who have no clue what poison ivy looks like. "Leaves of three leave it be." seems to be the rule of thumb, but even so, some people wouldn't be able to tell it from jewelweed (the plant whose juices cure poison ivy). There used to be poison ivy growing up the front wall of a building where I worked. It was very healthy poison ivy, and when I was running mail courier, I always managed to step around it as it overhang part of the sidewalk. One day, I was delivering the mail and I saw two of the grounds workers clearing out the vines. Both in short sleeves, the one was ripping it out with his bare hands, and passing it into the arms of the other who was carting it over to a big pile to be relocated. "You know that's poison ivy," I said, concerned. "No, it's not." "Yes it is. If you are allergic, go home and take a cold shower and soap yourself off. Don't use hot water, as that will open your pores and help the oils soak in. You'll probably still break out, but it wont be as bad." They argued and I went on to deliver the mail. When I came back, they were gone, and they had left the pile of debris, and the rest of the growing poison ivy. I imagine they both were covered, neck, arms, and face. Heaven help them if they went to the bathroom without washing their hands first.

Woodland edge W hen exploring the woods and fields of the Great Plains, a curious naturalist will usually be on the lookout for dangerous animals such as skunks or venomous snakes, but might not give any thought to the possibility of encountering a dangerous plant. Of course, plants cannot "attack" a person, but some plants can cause harm if they are touched. One plant that should definitely be avoided is Poison Ivy, and that can be a real challenge because it grows in different forms, does not have a consistent leaf shape and there are some plants in the same habitat that look like it! Poison Ivy is a woody vine or sub-shrub that has a very wide distribution. It may be found coast to coast from southern Canada to Mexico. It is also known from the West Indies and China. It is a member of the Anacardiaceae , or Cashew, family. Most members of this plant family have a tropical or sub-tropical distribution. In North America, it is represented by the Sumacs ( Rhus sp.

37. Poison Ivy, Poison Sumac, Poison Oak Cures, Treatment For Sunburn, Rashes, And C
Skin ointment from wildcrafted herbs as an all natural treatment for poison ivy, sunburn, and rashes.
http://www.woundedwarriorointment.com/
Why Wounded Warrior Works Better Than Anything Else on The Market:
Wounded Warrior is made from wildcrafted or organically grown herbs that are processed - while still fresh - in pharmaceutical grade alcohol (derived from corn). The extraction process for each herb follows the standards of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the US. These extracts are then blended into Aloe Vera Gel.
I supplied herbs from the North Carolina mountains to pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and natural product companies around the world. Realizing the need for an all natural, but standardized topical ointment (heal-all), I experimented for several years with combinations of herbs that eventually became Wounded Warrior.
For years this product was shared with friends and neighbors. Eventually the company, Wounded Warrior, was established to market the ointment. Since then thousands of people have used Wounded Warrior, and many have called us to share their amazing experiences. I appreciate so much the personal way folks have taken Wounded Warrior into the lives of their families.
I feel good about the fact that Wounded Warrior will take care of so many skin problems; This eliminates the need to purchase several products to handle them all. It truly is "A Medicine Chest in a Bottle".

July 13, 2003 Feeling bored Eve Quinlan Helga Heidelburg Johnny Green Laird Anson ... Sydney Reilly She spoke with Eve Quinlan over the phone yesterday. She told her about the characters she might run into. Some of them she already met, but she just let Eve talk. There was Reilly, who couldn't stand the heat in Petersburg anymore and had to say his goodbyes to Nadia. He had an infortunate 'accident' in New York and was discovered missing by the cleaning staff at the Algonquin Hotel, his room being vandalised. Sasha came over to look for him. He was found at the hospital in Buffalo. That was not what he told her when she met him in the street and he offered to help her getting some damage done to a very annoying parvenue who goes by the name of Carlo. Eve seemed to think Reilly had 'a certain interest' in her. She got help toying with Carlo from Laird Anson as well, who had a minor Barony in Caithness and major business concerns both in Berlin and Hannover. She knew him from way back but before this, they never actually met. Then there was this Helga Heidelburg character. She originated from Germany and recently rented an appartment in the city. Reilly was the first to contact her and pretended to know her father. She was apparently puzzled by his appearance and surprised the note that was to be delivered to her according to him, actually was. She presented herself at the Blue Perl and was a bit intimidated at first. Vitalio, the manager, told her what was expected from her.
