Jerusalem Syndrome summer 1999 In Jerusalem the summer before the Millenium (days drying up as the world warms), sipping thick coffee and waiting for God's latest instructions. His robe is white; his beard, full. He's tolerant of the imposters who inhabit their sacred names for only a few days, at most: mere tourists part-timers, not citizens like him, here for the duration. "Jerusalem Syndrome," the social workers call it, detailing the symptoms: an urge to wear a new name, to bathe vigorously to pare toenails to move around in white sheets which give off a muted radiance befitting their wearers' callings. I've met three Jesuses already (one's skin is black as olives one has red hair only one is circumcised), and Migdal Mary still trying to explain her dream visions to a clatter of hostile apostles.

Pieces like Finzi's Suite from Love's Labours Lost, Parry's Lady Radnor's Suite and Britten's Variations on a Theme By Frank Bridge are colorful, beguiling and, at times, exotic. Finally, the works of Elgar and the others are given characterful and musically satisfying treatments as well. The entire set is aptly named, and in the finest sense of the title. You can enjoy these discs by listening intently or just for background. Very highly recommended ! Music: Music: Passionate ImpressionsHahn: Le Rossignol ‰perdu Electronics: Pentax Optio S40 4MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom - I bought the Optio S and quickly returned it as I was really disappointed by the photo quality. But I loved the features so I thought I'd give Pentax one more shot (pardon the pun). The Optio S40 really fits the bill for what I wanted; a compact digital camera that I can carry with me when my Minolta A1 is to cumbersome that would produce reasonably nice prints. The S40 can be a little picky at full telephoto but otherwise it seems to perform very well and quick too. I'm sure once I learn about this model's capabilities I will be even more pleased with my purchase. At $100 bucks less than Canon's S410, it's a real bargain. By the way, if you are comparing this model to the Minolta Xg, don't bother. The Xg was an even bigger disappointment that the Optio S. Happy Shooting!
