I've found rheumies, as they're called, are the most capable in terms of treating and diagnosing myositis. I've also got a diagnosis of MG as well as dermatomyositis. Have you had a chest CT scan yet to see if your thymus is enlarged or if you have a thymoma? I was misdiagnosed as having MS at 22 and because of the long time between onset of symptoms (double vision as a child, tripping as a teenager) and diagnosis by muscle biopsy for the DM at age 40, and just last year at age 47 for the MG, my test results don't fall within the usual for these diseases. The longer you're sick, the less reliable those tests are. Neurologists don't seem to get it, but rheumies at least mine, thank God! are more aggressive about immune suppression.

The authors of this case report aimed to describe the chiropractic care of a pediatric patient with complaints associated with myasthenia gravis. A 2-year-old girl was provided chiropractic care at the request and consent of her parents for complaints of ptosis and generalized muscle weakness (ie, lethargy), particularly in the lower extremities. Prior to entry into chiropractic management, magnetic resonance imaging of the brain and acetylcholine receptor antibody tests were performed with negative results. However, the Tensilon test was positive and the diagnosis of myasthenia gravis was made by a pediatrician and seconded by a medical neurologist. The patient was cared for with contact-specific, high-velocity, low-amplitude adjustments to sites of vertebral subluxation complexes in the upper cervical and sacral spine.
