When various organs in our body such as the kidneys or gallbladder malfunction, conventional medicine's answer is to do surgery. This approach is expensive and involves many months of rehabilitation as scar tissue heals. Worst of all, the initial surgery does not always solve the problem and more cutting is required. Natural health practitioners have found a painless alternative to surgery. They say that if an organ is flushed out and cleaned, it will often start functioning properly again. They recommend going on a fast where only juices and distilled water are ingested to effectively cleanse and flush out various organs in the body. Other health products available here:

Kidney Stone
(Renal Stone)
What is a kidney stone?
A kidney stone is a hard mineral and crystalline material formed within the kidney or urinary tract. Kidney stones are a common cause of blood in the urine and pain in the abdomen, flank, or groin. Kidney stones occur in 1 in 20 people at some time in their life. What causes kidney stones?
The development of the stones is related to decreased urine volume or increased excretion of stone-forming components such as calcium, oxalate, urate cystine , xanthine, and phosphate . The stones form in the urine collecting area (the pelvis) of the kidney and may range in size from tiny to staghorn stones the size of the renal pelvis itself. The cystine stones (below) compared in size to a quarter (a U.S. $0.25 coin) were obtained from the kidney of a young woman by percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (PNL), a procedure for crushing and removing the dense stubborn stones characteristic of cystinuria What are symptoms of kidney stones?

Kidney stones
Published by BUPA's Health Information Team
February, 2003 Download this factsheet Kidney stones are hard, stone-like masses that can form in one or both kidneys. Kidney stones are fairly common, with about one percent of people in Western countries likely to get them. They are often painless when in the kidney but can cause severe pain as they travel from the kidneys to the bladder. They can also cause bleeding or block the flow of urine.
What are kidney stones?
Most people have two kidneys (see illustration below), which "clean" the blood. They filter out water and waste products, making urine.
The urology system Kidney stones are formed out of crystals found in the urine. In most cases, the crystals are too tiny to be noticed, and pass harmlessly out of the body. However, they can build up inside the kidney and form much larger stones.
