Chlamydia and Gonorrhea CHLAMYDIA
Chlamydia (chlamydia trachomatis) is one of the most prevalent sexually transmitted infections. This bacterial infection affects 3-4 million people each year. It is the most common cause of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ectopic pregnancy and infertility in women. Chlamydia is a frequent cause of testicular and prostate infections and is the most common cause of sterility in men. GONORRHEA
Gonorrhea (neisseria gonorrhoeae) is a bacterial infection that often co-exists with chlamydia. Approximately 600,000 new gonorrhea infections occur every year. These bacteria can also cause PID, ectopic pregnancy and sterility in women and testicular and prostate infections in men. TRANSMISSION/SYMPTOMS
Chlamydia and gonorrhea are transmitted through vaginal and anal sexual contact. Both infections cause symptoms for some people while other people have no recognizable symptoms at all. For women, symptoms include a change in the color or texture of vaginal discharge, irregular bleeding or spotting, vaginal burning, or pain and burning with urination. Pelvic pain may indicate that the bacteria have progressed into the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Because it is more common that women may not have recognizable symptoms, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that all sexually active adolescent and young adult women be tested during their annual exam. Any woman having new or multiple partners should request testing.

Sycosis And Gonorrhea
Preface
This document is a discussion between David Little and his German counterpart, Andres. There has been a resurgence of reading Hahemannan's classical works on the chronic miasms in America and Germany. In homoeopathy the affects of VD infections, the suppression of their symptoms, and the chronic degenerative diseases result are studied in detail. This is because venereal diseases are specific genus miasms which affects human beings as individuals and groups through infection or inheritance. Today the affect of venereal disease is very wide spread throughout the human race. Now to complement the sycosis and syphilis we have witnessed the development of a new venereal miasms at the close of the 20th century AIDS. With the advent of antibiotics orthodox medicine believes it has a magic bullet treatment for both gonorrhea and syphilis. They still to not realize the that the suppression of the symptoms of venereal miasms does not cure the underlying chronic state.. Slowly but surely the miasma, sycosis, disease-tunes the vital force leading the classical symptoms of degenerative diseases. The symptoms of the sycotic miasm are called arthritis, rheumatism, heart disease, a tumor, a kidney stone but the orthodox physician only see so many new diseases without wondering their true source. More medicine is used to suppress the symptoms and the miasma goes deeper and deeper into the vital centers of like. Only a homoeopath trained in Hahnemann's classical methods knows how to remove these miasms completely.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
(Redirected from Gonorrhea Gonorrhoea USA spelling: gonorrhea , slang term " the clap ") is a curable sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by a bacterium called Neisseria gonorrhoeae . These bacteria can infect the genital tract , the mouth , and the rectum . In women, the opening to the uterus , the cervix , is the first place of infection. The disease however can spread into the uterus and Fallopian tubes , resulting in pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID affects more than 1 million women in the United States every year and can cause infertility in as many as 10 percent of infected women and tubal (ectopic) pregnancy. In 2000, 358,995 cases of gonorrhea were reported to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In the United States, approximately 75 percent of all reported cases of gonorrhea is found in younger persons aged 15 to 29 years. The highest rates of infection are usually found in 15- to 19-year old women and 20- to 24-year-old men. Health economists estimate that the annual cost of gonorrhea and its complications is close to $1.1 billion. Gonorrhea spreads during sexual intercourse . Infected women also can pass gonorrhea to their newborn infants during delivery, causing

Overview
Despite the development of different diagnostic methods, Gram stain and culture of urethral or vaginal smears remain the methods of choice for diagnosing infection with Neisseria gonorrheae. The prevalence of this organism in asymptomatic individuals is so low that screening should be considered only in high-risk groups. These include individuals under age 30 years with at least 2 sexual partners in the previous year or age 6 years at first intercourse, prostitutes, and sexual contacts of individuals known to have a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Of greater note is the increase in penicillin-resistant organisms necessitating changes in antibiotic management. Previous studies have shown that treatment is efficacious.
Burden of Suffering
In 992, gonorrhea was the second most frequently reported notifiable disease in Canada. However, the incidence of the disease, which peaked at 56,336 cases in

Gonorrhea
What is gonorrhea?
Sometimes referred to as the "clap", gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Nisseria gonorrhoeae. Gonococcal infections are one of the main cause of urethritis (inflammation of the urethra), cervicitis (inflammation of the cervix), and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). The gonorrhea bacteria can be transmitted by sexual penetration (oral, vaginal, rectal). In men the infection usually starts as an infection of the urethra. In women it usually first infects the cervix. The bacterium also commonly infects the throat and rectum during oral and anal sex. Gonorrhea infection can be present without symptoms and therefore be unknowingly transmitted.
What are the signs and symptoms of gonorrhea?
Often an infected person will have no detectable symptoms. When symptoms do appear, they usually develop within two to five days after exposure to an infected person but may develop any time between 1 to 30 days. Symptoms include:
For women:
  • Cloudy, yellow vaginal discharge

Gonorrhea in Women
Medical Author: Carolyn Janet Crandall, MD, FACP
Medical Editor: William C. Shiel Jr., MD, FACP, FACR What are sexually transmitted infections?
In this article, the terms "sexually transmitted infections" and "STIs" are replacing the outdated terminology "sexually transmitted diseases" and "STDs." Sexually transmitted infections (STIs, formerly sexually transmitted diseases or STDs) are infections that can be transferred from one person to another through sexual contact. Sexually transmitted infections have probably been around for thousands of years, but the most worrisome, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or AIDS, has only been recognized since 1984. It is important to realize that sexual contact includes more than just sexual intercourse (vaginal and anal). Sexual contact includes kissing, oral-genital contact, and the use of sexual "toys," such as vibrators. Most STIs are treatable. However, even the once easily cured gonorrhea has become resistant to many of the older traditional antibiotics. Other STIs, such as herpes, AIDS, and genital warts (all of which are caused by viruses), have no cure. These infections can be silent, causing no symptoms, or they can cause a spectrum of mild to severe symptoms, even death. Syphilis, AIDS, genital warts, herpes, hepatitis, and even gonorrhea have all been known to cause death. Therefore, a public awareness and education about these infections and the methods of preventing them is important.

Gonorrhea/Clap
Gonorrhea also known as the clap, is a sexually transmitted bacterial disease, which differs in males and females. Symptoms The symptoms in males include a yellowish discharge from the penis, which causes painful, frequent urination. Symptoms can develop from two to thirty days after infection. A few percent of infected men have no symptoms. The infection may move into the prostate, seminal vesicles, and epididymis, causing pain and fever. Untreated, gonorrhea can lead to sterility.
Less than half the women with gonorrhea show any symptoms, or symptoms so mild they just ignore. Early symptoms include a discharge from the vagina, some discomfort in the lower abdomen, irritation of the genitals, pain or burning during urination and some abnormal bleeding. Women, who leave these symptoms untreated, develop severe complications. The infection will usually spread to the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries, causing Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). Gonorrhea is the most common cause of female infertility.
Some early symptoms of this infection are lower abdomen pain, fever, nausea, and pain during intercourse.

Resistant form of gonorrhea gains foothold
By Stephen Smith, Globe Staff, 3/10/2004 A dangerous form of gonorrhea that can't be treated with standard antibiotics has swiftly established a foothold in Massachusetts, highlighting a resurgence of sexually transmitted illnesses across New England, disease trackers report. ADVERTISEMENT The new germ was first detected in the state in 2002. By last year, one of every seven gonorrhea patients tested positive for the bacteria, which cannot be treated with the cheapest antibiotic pills. Maine reported its first case in January. Though other New England health departments do not routinely examine blood samples for the new bug, health officers in those states said they suspect its presence. Infectious disease specialists fear that the number of drug-resistant gonorrhea cases will grow exponentially, as patients with the new strain are unwittingly prescribed drugs that do them no good. Thinking they're cured, the patients may resume unsafe sex practices and pass on the infection. "If the drug-resistant gonorrhea establishes that initial beachhead, it can become very hard to put the genie back into the bottle," said Dr. Stephen L. Boswell, executive director of the Fenway Community Health Center in Boston.
