Avian Encephalomyelitis (AE) is a viral infection primarily affecting young birds. The disease is characterized by a variety of neurological signs including incoordination, ataxia, and tremors of the head and neck. An assessment of immune status as well as serologic identification of AE requires a measurement of antibody to AE in serum. Enzyme immunoassays have proven efficacious in the quantification of antibody levels to AE and facilitate the monitoring of immune status in large flocks. AE ELISA

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Alternative Cure
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis is caused by viral infection.
Cure is possible with electromedicine and rebalancing the hormonal/glandular system.
If you feel like you have the flu constantly or chronic mononucleosis then you probably have an ongoing viral infection causing Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). This viral disease was beating me to death for 16 years until I tried this alternative treatment
The Epstein Barr virus is a common cause of this disease, and when it (or any other causative virus) is treated with electric current it loses its ability to infect human white blood cells. Without being able to infect cells with their nucleic acids then the viruses are stopped from being able to use the human cells to reproduce themselves. Being left 'free-floating' in the blood serum (fluid), then the white blood cells will eventually take the viruses out of the bloodstream one-by-one (which is their job as immune cells). This type of treatment with electricity presents the most important step to a possible cure. Researchers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY discovered this activity of elecricity against viruses , stopping their ability to attach to human cells receptor sites. The electricity needed was only a scant 50-100 micro-amps (millionths of an ampere) which is not enough to feel. Afterwards they created a

FOREIGN ANIMAL DISEASES VENEZUELAN EQUINE ENCEPHALOMYELITIS
(Peste loca, Venezuelan encephalitis, VEE, VE) Definition Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis (VEE) is a zoonotic, mosquito-borne, viral disease affecting both Equidae and humans (6,8). In Equidae, infection may produce an acute, fulminating disease that terminates in death or recovery without development of encephalitic signs, or the more classical disease with progressive clinical encephalitis. In human beings, a flulike syndrome predominates with an accompanying high fever and frontal headache. Human deaths may occur in the young or the aged. A wide variety of hosts and vectors may be infected (5,10,13,15). Etiology The etiologic agent of VEE is an alphavirus of the family Togaviridae (formerly the group A arboviruses). . The virions are 60-75 nm in diameter and have an essential lipid membrane. Only minor antigenic variations exist among different VEE virus isolates (10,16). Six subtypes (I, II, III, IV, V, and VI) have been identified within the VEE complex. Within subtype I, only two (A/B and C) of the five variants (A/B through F) have been associated with epizootic activity in equines (5,10,13-15). The other variants (I-D through I-F) and subtypes (II through VI) have been associated with nonequine, sylvatic, or enzootic activity. Infection with one variant or vaccination with attenuated virus generally results in production of neutralizing antibodies and cross-protection of variable duration to infection with the other subtypes and variants (13-15).

Encephalomyelitis disseminata
Word: Word Starts with Ends with Definition Encephalomyelitis disseminata is a synonym for multiple sclerosis Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a non-contagious chronic autoimmune disorder of the central nervous system which can present with a variety of neurological symptoms occurring in attacks or slowly progressing over time.
Historical overview
There are a few early reports about patients who could have suffered from MS. St. Lidwina of Schiedam (1380-1433), a Dutch nun, may have been the first reported MS patient. From the age of 16, she developed intermittent pain, weakness of the legs, and visual loss—symptoms typical of MS. She died at the age of 53.

The causes of autoimmune disorders are still obscure, and most of these disorders are probably the result of multiple circumstances: for example, a genetic predisposition triggered by an infection. Women tend to be affected more often by autoimmune disorders, nearly 79% of autoimmune disease patients in the USA are women http://www.acs.ohio-state.edu/units/research/archive/autoimmu.htm . It is not known why this is the case, although hormone levels have been shown to affect the severity of the disease http://www.sciencemag.org/feature/data/983519.shl .

Abstract: This thesis describes the development of a novel method to suppress an organ-specific autoimmune disease, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), by vaccination with DNA encoding autoantigenic peptides. DNA vaccination can produce long-term immunity and generate antigen-specific CD8+ and CD4+ T cells. EAE is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS), and an animal model for multiple sclerosis (MS). We used myelin basic protein (MBP)-EAE, in which Lewis (LEW) rats are immunized with MBP or encephalitogenic MBP-peptides. The disease is considered to be T1-mediated. We vaccinated LEW rats with DNA encoding the irnmunodominant T cell epitope MBP-peptide 68-85 (MBP68-85) targeted to IgG, before challenge with MBP68-85. The clinical and histopathological signs of EAE were reduced in the DNA vaccinated group, compared to controls. We observed a reduced production of IFN-[gamma] in the vaccinated group, compared to controls, but we measured no induction of type 2 immunity.

Shaken Baby Syndrome
or Vaccine-Induced Encephalomyelitis?
The Story of Baby Alan
Note: In the following report Dr. Yazbak and I have reviewed the case of an infant death which we believe to have been mistakenly diagnosed as shaken baby syndrome, the true cause of death in our opinions having been a vaccine-induced encephalitis. Having carefully followed the case and its developments for nearly a year, the report represents untold numbers of hours of study and investigation into the many technical parameters of the case. From this study we have come to realize that this case is representative of an emerging pattern of increasingly frequent vaccine reactions on the modern scene, which are being overlooked or misdiagnosed by our present health-care system. The "Story of Baby Alan" is a poignant one, all the more so because it is something that could happen to any young couple or parent. Although the story is necessarily technical, nevertheless we urge that you read it. If you are a young person contemplating having a family, it is something that could happen to you. Harold E. Buttram, MD

Neurological symptoms vary in their mode of presentation, either with rapid onset within a few days or preceded by weeks of fever, headache and drowsiness and severity; with seizures, multiple focal neurological deficits followed by coma and death in some cases. The disease is self-limiting and resolves within one month; about 1020% of patients may, however, suffer from permanent sequelae. Pathologically, the lesions appear similar to those of MS (see multiple sclerosis ) with confluent areas of demyelination, perivascular and perivenular inflammatory infiltrates. A rare variant of ADEM is acute haemorrhagic encephalomyelitis (AHEM). CT may show scattered hypodense areas in the subcortical white matter, with or without enhancement, but MR is definitely the modality of choice. The lesions appear almost identical to those of MS, however, and it may be difficult in some cases to initially differentiate between the two forms; only follow-up examinations and the appearance of the typical relapsing remitting course will clarify the diagnosis.

Conventional Wisdom
: Through its history, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) was perceived to be psychosomatic illness with no organic causes. This has only begun to change in recent years, and many professionals still outspokenly advocate or subtly treat M.E. as a psychiatric disorder. The main research and treatment directions involve anti-depressants, psychotherapy, and exercise. Alternative Challenge : Evidence that M.E. is an organic disorder is overwhelming, but obtusely dismissed by the medical establishment. Exercise often triggers relapses and is inappropriate as a universal treatment. Psychotherapy is useful inasmuch as it is helpful to any other chronic illness or disability. Research needs to refocus on organic dysfunctions. Articles on this site
