We welcome you to our Department of Communication! Communication is our expertise, and we're happy you've chosen to visit us in this forum. At Harding, we prepare scholars for a world that needs strong guidance in sending life-changing messages. Our department is probably the most diverse at Harding. Communication Disorders ( www.harding.edu/cd ) provides a physiological and clinical view of the development and disorders of communication. Oral Communication examines the public and cultural factors that help us interact. Theatre gives an exciting taste of the arts for those students preparing for an acting or technical theatre career. Mass Communication students are put in touch with the worlds of advertising, public relations, electronic media and print journalism. Communication Management provides the right mix for students preparing to be managers of information outlets. And our newest major, Interactive Media, develops students for the immensely popular digital world of communication. I think our faculty is extremely talented. In every area, dedicated professionals present media analyses from a Christian perspective. In addition to providing courses for our students, they lead media activities such as the school newspaper and yearbook and the TV and radio broadcast outlets. They direct scores of dramatic productions, Spring Sing performances and children's theater troupes. They provide clinical speech and hearing services for citizens of this area. They supervise in debate and media events across a several state region, and earn accolades that are rivaled by few schools.
