Contents Cerebral blood flow circulation disorders:
pathogenic and compensatory mechanisms. R.R. Shakarishvili, G. I. Mchedlishvili.
In the range of pathogenic and compensatory processes of cerebral hemodynamics the macro- and microcirculation mechanisms are differentiated creating the pathogenic background of lacunar and watershed infarcts of the brain accordingly. Compensatory mechanisms of the brain macro circulation system are universal and represented by mobilization of collateral network and cerebrovascular auto regulation, while in the microcirculation system the main compensatory role plays the uniquely small diameter of cerebral capillaries restricting the invasion of aggressive cell substrates (thrombocytes, neutrophyles), the low capillary hematocryte, maintaining the stabile level even during significant changes of systematic one, as well as strengthening of oxygen extraction phase. The end-point of the combined pathogenic action of disorders of auto regulation and ,,no-reflow” phenomenon is considered to be the precapillary sector of microcirculation. Contents

What is a thoracic disorder? Any disease or condition that involes the chest (thorax) can be considered a thoracic disorder. Most thoracic disorders may also be classified as respiratory or pulmonary disorders. As you can see from the diagram on the right, the main component in the chest is the respiratory system, and most thoracic disorders are related to the respiratory system.
Common Disorders The following list contains some of the most common thoracic disorders:
  • lung cancer (early and late stages) emphysema/ bullous disease mediastinal tumors/mass bronchiectasis esophageal cancer intersititial lung disease (ILD) lymphoma (diagnosis) hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) pulmonary nodule or mass myasthenia gravis barrett's esophagus tracheobronchial malacia hiatal hernia achalasia reflux disease thoracic outlet syndrome
Resources The University of Maryland Medicine is devoted to helping patients with thoracic disorders.

    Laboratory of pathology of cerebral circulation
    Head of the Laboratory - Doctor of Biological Science, Prof. Semeniutin Vladimir Borisovich The Laboratory of Pathology of Cerebral Circulation (LPCC) was organized in 1971 on the initiative of Director of the Institute, Honored Science Worker of the Russian Federation, Prof. Ugriumov V.M. In 1972-1982 it was headed by Doctor of Medical Science, Prof. Teplov S.I., who was a physiologist. Together with Prof. Ugriumov V.M. he outlined both fundamental and applied prospective trends of research in pathophysiology of cerebral circulation and formulated a hypothesis concerning the role of the hypothalamo-hypophyseal system in mechanisms of cerebral circulation disorders in patients with different neurosurgical pathology. A valuable contribution was made into development of the following problems: - blood supply and metabolism in cerebral circulatory hypoxia;
    - neurogenic regulation of cerebral blood flow and the role of neurogenic and hormonal factors in pathogenesis of vascular disorders;
    - interrelations between cerebral and systemic hemodynamics;

    OPC-3 is a powerful combination of plant derived bioflavonoids, know as oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC's). It is made from a combination of grape seed, pine bark and red wine extracts in addition to bilberry and citrus extracts. These OPC's are super effective free radical neutralizers. They are not limited to being strong antioxidants, they are also crucial in their role in supporting the circulatory system and strengthening the capillaries.
    ANTIOXIDANT FORMULA is a combination of beta-carotene (as a vitamin A precursor), vitamins C and E, and the minerals Selenium and Potassium. These vitamins and minerals rid our system of harmful reactants known as free radicals, caused by factors we encounter every day. These factors include, but are not limited to, breathing, eating and drinking, heavy exercise, ultraviolet rays, stress and smoking. This product is designed to be taken in addition to the MultiTech Formula.

    Vertebral Column
    Arteries of the Brain The vertebrobasilar system is also called the "posterior circulation" of the brain. There are three main vessels which provide circulation to the back of the brain two vertebral arteries and one basilar artery. The back of the brain contains structures which are crucial for sustaining life. For instance, the brainstem controls respiration, swallowing, and the level of consciousness. Other structures of the back of the brain are the occipital lobes (the vision areas of the brain) and the cerebellum (which controls motor coordination).

Poor circulation may lead to blueness cyanosis pallor , and other symptoms. Poor circulation can also reduce healing effectiveness in affected areas leading to poor healing . Any needs prompt professional medical advice. Blueness can indicate cyanosis such as from lack of circulation and can be very serious. This can arise due to various severe illnesses that inhibit circulation or oxygen takeup. Localized cyanosis can also occur in areas of poor circulation such as the hands and fingers in Raynaud's phenomenon . Cyanosis may also be described as purple skin or dark skin in some cases.
