It also helps dogs recovering from:
    • Orthopedic and neurological surgery Back, hip, knee, elbow surgery Broken bone repair
Dr. Kathy Kern, RVT. has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 1982 and has her doctorate in Biosciences. She is a pioneer in her field being the first to develop this technique of swimming therapy for animals, and has since trained numerous other therapists. Kathy has developed a water program for animals which combines the natural movements of the animal with certain massage techniques that can be administered while the animal is in motion. These techniques help to relieve pain and strengthen and re-train muscles. Because the animal is virtually weightless, your pet actually makes the correction on its own and is able to use full range of motion. This is why results occur so quickly and can last for a long period of time. Using these techniques, she has been successfully treating animals since 1986. Hydrotherapy (swim therapy) as a form of rehabilitation and preventive care is recommended highly by general and orthopedic vets.
