My 6 year old daughter has Alpers disease. She was diagnosed at 18 months old and we were told by her doctors she probably wouldn't live past age 3. In the beginning, I talked to other parents who had children with Alper's. Unfortunately, all the children except 2 have since passed away and the other 2 are now thought to have some other disorder. Now I'm wondering about my own daughter since she is now 6 years old. If there is anyone out there with a child diagnosed with Alpers with a similar situation? I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has a child with this disorder or has information about it. Sincerely, M.Anderson Next Article
