Extractions: Georgiadis Peebles Duo Page Discography Repertoire Arrangements Born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, he began playing the violin at the age of six under the guidance of his father, an amateur violinist, and later went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music, London. One year in Paris completed the fifteen years of studies with altogether four teachers; Vanna Brown , Joan Rochford-Davies, Frederick Grinke and Rene Benedetti. Whilst with Frederick Grinke he won the Queens Prize, the Gulbenkian Award, and was awarded the Dove Prize, and was elected a FRAM in 1972, and a FGSM in 1976. He was Leader (Concertmaster) of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra from 1963 to 1965, and the London Symphony Orchestra from 1965 to 1973, and 1976 to 1979. 1972 saw the formation of the London Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra of which he is a founder member and Music Director.

Arrangements Born in Rochford, Essex, he began playing the violin at the age of six, later studying at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and then in Paris. At the age of 23 he commenced a two and a half year period as Leader (Concertmaster) of the city of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, which ended when he moved to the London Symphony Orchestra where he stayed as Leader for a total of eleven years through two periods from 1965 to 1979, the Kertesz, Previn, Abbado eras.An early interest in conducting led to eight years of study with Maestro Sergei Celibidache and a career which, beginning with education work in 1963, now includes appearances with orchestras worldwide. Conducting engagements with the LSO, which have included international tours, centre around the New Year's Concerts at the Barbican Centre, which will be celebrating a quarter of a century at the 25th Anniversary concerts this coming new year. As a prolific recording artist over the years he has recorded on various labels and several of his CDs have received the highest accolades.

The musicians were joined by clarinettist Ian Swatman who played with the ensemble in Weber's Clarinet Quintet in B flat and the very well known Mozart Quintet in A. The concert started with Mendelssohn Quartet in E flat. As always the ensemble provided superb music-making in a warm and friendly ambience and Ian's virtuosity blended superbly with the steady assurance of the Becker.
