News And Other Snippets cast also includes Ray Munt as the longsuffering butler, bentley, plus Colin KARENNICHOLSON. commented on how wonderful the 77-year-old violinist George Reid http://www.caods.org.uk/news.htm
Extractions: (reproduced by kind permission of the Isle of Wight County Press The Constant Wife, as currently being performed by Cowes Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society, is comical enough but could benefit from being much slicker. This group has a reputation for keeping plays by some of the older writers alive and this masterpiece by W. Somerset Maugham is no exception. Susan U'Ren is great as Constance Middleton, the clever, yet faithful wife of surgeon John Middleton, played with passion by John Wiles. I particularly liked Sandie Munt's portrayal of Marie-Louise Durham, the 1920s fashionista who is Constance's best friend and the object of John's infidelity. Helen Plumbly is good as Constance's rather disagreeable sister Martha, while Maggie Pearman Taylor is the perfect wise matriarchal figure as Constance's mother, Mrs Culver.

An exciting evening is in store with performances of Jazz, Tango, and Flamenco, and music with a Latin beat to listen to and dance to. Refreshments of tapas and sangria will be available. New York State Council On The Arts lists Maverick Concerts as a "Primary Institution" The Council is required to award at least 50% of its local assistance funds to "eligible arts organizations which, by the quality of their arts services, their stature as arts institutions on a state and national level, or by the importance of their contributions to a significant population or the arts discipline in which they specialize, are particularly vital to the cultural life of New York State, and the loss of which or the diminution of services would, in the opinion of the Council, constitute a serious artistic loss to the people of the state."

Extractions: The performances are uniformly appealing, especially Kazue Tsunogae as an uptight nurse-matron, turned chain-smoking accomplice. And Yaguchi's camera moves are stylish, but his unchecked affection for his own words slows the action down disastrously at times. "Adrenaline Drive" brims with youthful exhuberance, it just needs to cut to the quick a little quicker.
