    Extractions: Teachers/Students Note : This is a quiz that I made for use in my TOEFL Preparation Class during the Summer Session at UC Berkeley. After several weeks of studying the formats of both the paper-based and computer-based TOEFL exams and practicing with both, students were assigned reading homework from the latest TOEFL Information Bulletin. Students were told there would be a quiz on this reading homework. If you use this quiz with your students, I suggest you follow a similar approach. At the start of the quiz, users are required to enter a name and email address. Results are sent to this email address (and optionally to a second "instructor" email address). I've added a privacy statement to let people know the purpose of the email address and to explain that the address will never be used for any other purpose. The presentation of questions during the quizone at a time, with a confirmation step for each responseis similar to the way adaptive sections are presented in the TOEFL. FYI: You can view the quiz questions with a phony email address, but you won't get any feedback (or suggested answers), so it's not really worthwhile.
