The biggest shafts that can be produced are 840/540 * 12.500 mm! Important here is that a straightness of 0.1 mm per meter will be achieved. Materials like Duplex and Monel are no problem...... The propellers, the 1/2 couplings, keys and nuts will be checked. If required all gear will be prepared for examinations and inspections by surveyors of any required classification society. The "standard" Poseidon products like the Pegasus Seals and the Orion Thrust Blocks and the smaller parts like bearings, seal houses, 1/2 couplings etc. are manufactured by a unit of CNC machines with each individual specific special capacities are used to manufacture all products from 3 mm till 650 mm diameter in lengths up to 1250 mm. These CNC machines are capable to do more machining disciplines. These multifunctional tasks make 3D machining possible and thus our products are manufactured in a most efficient way.

While the bigger enterprises have exploited these approaches, much of the supply chain- particularly SMEs with fewer resources and limited budgets - remain either uncertain or unconvinced about the value of quality initiatives. There has been little national or independent study of either the benefits or the deficiencies of quality initiatives since the SEPSU report no 10 (Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering) June 1994 on 'UK quality management -policy options'. With much of industry and commerce about to be faced with revised and new requirements for systems to ISO 9000, it is thought timely to review progress over the last several years.
