Extractions: Introduction Prof. Ih, J.-G. joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an assistant professor in August 1990, teaching courses in acoustics and vibration. Previously, he worked for about 5 and half years at the Technical Center of Daewoo Motor Co. in Inchon, Korea, in charge of the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Group as an associate manager starting from a section chief in 1985. From 1987 to 1988, Dr. Ih conducted the research at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) of the Southampton University in U.K. as a visiting research staff by the support of the FCO. His current research interests include the duct acoustics, analytical and experimental modeling of the acoustic field, vibro-acoustic interactions, vehicle interior/exterior noise modeling and reduction, etc. Prof. Ih is a member of the Korea Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Korea Society of Automotive Engineers, the Acoustical Society of Korea, the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering, ASME, ASA, SAE, INCE and AES. Prof. Ih is currently serving as the Associate Editor of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of Korea and as an Editorial Board member of the Journal of the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering. In 1997, he awarded the Best Paper Presentation Award at the ASVA 97 Conference held at Japan, the Academic Award from the Acoustical Society of Korea, the Prize Paper Award at the IPC-9 Conference held at Indonesia.
