Today, as in earlier years, the club is committed to maintaining and furthering water polo interests in the Huddersfield and Kirklees areas and to support this it has the use of two 25 metre pools with full water polo facilities and equipment at each venue. The facilities available give plenty of scope for the full range of coaching, training and competitive activities necessary for a membership of varying ages and abilities. The Friday night session at the Huddersfield Sports Centre follows the club's swimming session for beginners and younger swimmers which runs from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. The water polo session commences at 8.00pm with the 25m pool facility shared with younger players practice for mini-polo up to 9.00pm and general training for older players to 9.30 pm. The Tuesday night session is from 8.30pm to 10.00pm and is based at the McAlpine Stadium Pool which gives us an excellent full depth water polo facility.

We play men's water polo in the top London and Surrey leagues where we have two teams and our members are from all over the world and cover every age group from early twenties up to mid sixties. We do not have our own ladies team but we can put you in touch with Penguin ladies who are 'associate members of the club' and we combine with them regularly for both social and athletic events. The club is a very sociable one and the post match or post training drinks are as much a part of the club as the water polo. If you want to play competitive national league polo you should try other London clubs, such as Polytechnic or Penguin, but if you want a friendly, enthusiastic club that caters for most standards of polo you need look no further! For the first time, Hawai'i will be holding a state water polo championship, making it one of three states to do so. The eight-team tournament begins today, with the championship Saturday at 7 p.m. All games will be held at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. "It's incredible to be a part of it this year," Hawai'i Prep coach Mark Noetzel said. "It's nice that it's finally come to this after two years in a league and not being able to go beyond that." But two years without a state tournament is nothing compared to the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, which has had league-sanctionedwater polo for eight years.

OSU won 9-6 in a game in which the Huskies had numerous chances but could not get the ball into the goal. There were lots of shots that just missed going in and we failed to make a large percentage of our manups. Both teams were evenly matched but OSU converted most of their opportunities and we did not. In earlier games we did beat Oregon 14-7 and Western Washington 10-4.
