Australian Broomball.com.au Eventually Druids remembered they were playing broomball and closed up ranks using good offensive forechecking to camp Slytherin in their defensive half. http://www.broomball.com.au/
Extractions: Similar game to last week for Druids, lose early defence costing them 2 early goals, one to Kerry Baxter, the other to Scott Murray. Like last week they pulled one back, 2-1 at half time. Second half was all played in the defensive zone of Sonics content to counter when they could. However Con Sourlangos in goals and some good defence meant that like last week there was no second half goals for Druids. In fact a steal by Tim Brown inside the last minute saw him break for a nice off hand flick finish. 3-1 Sonics defeating Druids. Shot fest this game. Both teams streaming forward on the counter. Phantoms lept out to a two goal lead, before Con Sourlangos pulled one back. 3 goals in the first ten minutes and there were many more shots saved by the keepers in that time. Phantoms added to their lead 3-1 at half time. Mighty Dragons unlucky not to have a second goal after it was disallowed off Con Sourlangos' leg. Mighty Dragons pressed hard in the second half but just couldnt find the net. Phantoms managed one goal but missed heaps. Final score 4-1 Phantoms.
Page Title Dedicated to the sport of broomball in Yellowknife. Discusses the sport under headings, men, women and junior boys. http://www.ssimicro.com/~netmindr/
Extractions: This Website Is Dedicated To A Great Winter Sport! Broomball was first played in Yellowknife at the local Winter Carnivals however it was marred with continuous fighting and it was thought that an organized Association would be a benefit. The first season saw 12 Co-Ed Broomball teams take part and at the end of the first season it was deemed a success. The Organizers then decided to start a Men's Broomball Association and so it began with the first two teams the Gold Brickers and the Ravens. The Yellowknife Men's Broomball Association began in 1979 with the two teams and has had as many as six league teams in a season. Each year the Yellowknife Men form an all star team known as The Ravens to compete at the Canadian National Championships. Entering their 24th season, the Yellowknife Men's League continues to grow thanks in part to the Yellowknife Junior Boys program which began in 1990. The Yellowknife Junior program has produced some outstanding players over the years. The program continues to be a starting point for many of today's Ravens players.

Extractions: The Flock Story: Too Much Time On Our Hands We're not just bored. We're bored, unskilled and kind of dumb. Based on that fact alone, its almost destiny that we ventured into the world of moderately competitive broomball (the equivalent of beer-league wiffleball in the ice-bound sports world). But it was more than just destiny that turned this incredibly less than average team into the sports entertainment powerhouse that the world knows today. It was the inspired genius of founder Jon Passman that brought this collection of talentless rabble together. It is the endless support of our fans who sadly have nothing better to do than to watch men sweat on ice. It is the tireless effort of the players that has turned such motivation and drive into so few wins. It is the complete lack of a life that has led to cool websites, trips to faraway lands and numerous hot tubs spreading the gospel of Flock. But more than anything it is the fact that we're in on the joke that makes us one of the most fun, enjoyable, and entertaining collections people ever to be associated with Broomball. Sure, we may not be winning a title anytime soon (other than "Most Likely to Laugh at Flatulence Jokes"), but damn if we don't have more fun than anyone else doing it. Welcome To Broomball.com broomball Sizing. ShoesOutdoor shoes are good for indoor and outdoor use. If you are an 8 womens shoe you would be a 7 broomball shoe. http://www.broomball.com/sizing/
Extractions: Broomball Sizing Shoes- Outdoor shoes are good for indoor and outdoor use. Indoor are strictly indoor. With indoor shoes outside, the snow sticks to the bottom and you will be sliding all over. This is why the outdoor shoes have cups on the bottom, so that the snow drops out. If you are playing in an outdoor tourney with no snow, wear indoor shoes. If it snows at all, switch to outdoor shoes. Mens sizing is usually right with the tennis shoe size. If you are playing outdoors, you may want room for a heavy sock, but unless you are freezing on the bench, go with your tennis shoe size. Womens sizing is one size smaller than your shoe size. If you are an 8 womens shoe you would be a 7 broomball shoe. If you are an 8.5 shoe, you will probably still be a 7, you may need to experiment with your socks. Sticks The standard 46 works for 99% of the players. Some defensemen prefer longer sticks for poke checking the ball. Some crafty forwards prefer shorter sticks for stick handling. Shin Guards You will ideally want the largest shin guard possible. Here is a good guide. If you are over 6 tall, then you would be an XL. If you are 59-6 you are Large. If you are 55" 59 you are medium and any shorter you are a small. This includes the shin knee combos. If you are 62 or bigger, the seperate shin and knees is the best option. All of the combos are too short for me.

Despite the weather conditions (much snow), teams from every province and territory were represented with the exception of PEI and the Yukon. Provinces were placed into two divisions, according to last year's standings, for Round robin play. There were six teams in each division, and after the round robin, the Top two teams in the two divisions moved on to the "A" Pool for Playoffs, and the next two (3rd and 4th), in the two divisions entered the "B" Pool Playoffs.
