The translator is said to have traveled to Montpellier and Salerno in order to study medicine. 1210 Council of Paris prohibits the reading of Aristotle's books on natural philosophy as well as all commentaries on them. The Aristotelian texts arriving in Paris are mostly from Constantinople and translated from Greek into Latin.
