It would appear that, by July 2001, word of mouth had gotten around about The Lilac Time. The group's first three albums - long since deleted by Fontana - were changing hands on eBay for over £50 a piece. These days, the acoustic guitar is no longer an object of ridicule. The bearded boys and lank-haired girls were right, all along. When Fontana finally anthologised The Lilac Time's first three albums on a double CD, Compendium commenced a lengthy residency in the Amazon Top 40. Truth to tell, the signs were already there. Stephen Duffy had reconvened The Lilac Time in 1999 to the kind of critical acclaim that eluded their first incarnation. Sometimes, the sound of fingers scraping between two minor chords whilst a harmonium purrs in the background can be enough to make you cry.
Time -- From Eric Weisstein's World Of Astronomy time, barycentric dynamical It is used as a time scale of ephemeridesreferred to the barycenter of the solar system. ephemeris time http://scienceworld.wolfram.com/astronomy/Time.html
Extractions: barycentric dynamical time (TDB): dynamical time for barycentric phenomena which replaced Ephemeris Time when the IAU 1976 System of Astronomical Constants was implemented in the Astronomical Almanac in 1984. The difference between TDT and TDB is due to variations in the gravitational potential around earths orbit, and is always less than 2 milliseconds. It is used as a time scale of ephemerides referred to the barycenter of the solar system. ephemeris time (ET): a uniform time measure now kept by atomic clocks. Ephemeris Time was used in the Astronomical Almanac from 1960-1983, but was replaced by Barycentric Dynamical Time when the IAU 1976 System of Astronomical Constants was implemented in the Astronomical Almanac in 1984. Extractions: It's easy to read testimonials with a cynical viewpoint, but for once I have to agree; this service is rather exceptional. I first went looking for an alternative hit counter because my hosting service was reporting some rather bizarre statistics that flew in the face of what I'd researched (apparently everyone So onto Google I went, and stumbled across StatCounter. It was free, it said ( but only if you want the absolute minimum of stats, I thought ). It could be invisible, it said ( but only if you pay a premium, I thought ). It didn't asphixiate your site with pop-up windows, it said ( yeah right, I thought, where's the catch?) Well it turned out I was wrong and that all the testimonials were quite right.
Time And Magik Rated 9/10 by Mike Gerrard. Three games worth getting then, definitely, even if you've already got one or two of them in their earlier versions. http://www.ysrnry.co.uk/articles/timeandmagik.htm
Extractions: Mandarin Jul 1988 YS31 Mike Gerrard Mega-game status on Level 9's Magik trilogy without a doubt, and good to see all Spectrum possibilities being catered for at the same price... well, except for the 16K machine, that is, can't think why. The cassette version offers one adventure per tape, with 48K versions on one side and 128K on the other, though I haven't seen the disk version yet as that's just being finished off. The three games included are Lords Of Time Red Moon and The Price Of Magik , and just like the Rainbird trilogies before them, all the games have been put onto the latest version of the Level 9 adventure program. It's good to see an old friend like Lords Of Time in a shiny new outfit! The games are still text-only, but the text has been considerably enhanced in the 128K versions, where there's also a RAMSAVE command as well as an OOPS feature that takes you back one move and which can be used several times in succession, depending on the circumstances. There's the now-usual Peter McBride story in the glossy manual, which also includes an intro to adventuring for beginners. Good move that, following in the footsteps of US adventuring giant Infocom, as is the new description of the games being 'interactive fiction' that's crept onto the front of the box.

Killing Time Help, tips, codes, and a complete walkthrough. All secrets of the Conway Estate revealed. http://killingtime.home.mindspring.com
Extractions: Killing Time was originally created for a cult gaming platform called 3DO, then in 1997, Logicware released the Macintosh version. Critics dismissed it as a "Doom clone," but I was impressed by the music, sound effects, gore, and overall mood of Killing Time. I played it off and on for about a year, unable to figure out the conclusion, so I searched online for help and found a whole galaxy of reviews, screenshots, and cheats... but no walkthrough... so I decided to lock myself up for a week and write one. This walkthrough is completely compatible with the PC version of Killing Time released by Studio 3DO (see "3DO Note" below) . At various points, you'll be advised to look down (press [page down]) , crouch (press [Z]) , run (hold down [shift] while moving) , or jump (press [A]) . Sometimes, you may have to run and jump to go higher or further, and if you get "physically" stuck, say, between a tree and a wall, jumping will help. Also, sidestep left

Extractions: Time software falls into two major categories: (1) Clock time synchronization and rate correction, and (2) time displays. Synchronization programs set the PC clock to an external standard. Although some programs permit manual synchronization (to a radio time station or audible time signal), increasingly, they dial up national standards and automatically synchronize. Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers are other synchronization sources. The tendency today is to use Internet time servers, which are controlled by atomic clocks. Because PC clocks rarely have a correct rate (they lose or gain time significantly) it is useful to correct the rate with software that determines the rate error and then periodically corrects the time. In this way a typical rate error of several seconds per day can effectively be reduced to several seconds per month. This has the added advantage that synchronization need be performed less frequently. For a discussion of PC clocks see the paper RighTime tm A Real Time Clock Correcting Program For MS-DOS-Based Computer Systems by Tom Becker.
