But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. The signs may also be symbolic, rather like parables. The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables ?"
Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship & Brownsville AOG toronto airport christian fellowship Brownsville AOG. toronto airport christian fellowship meets in a half finished industrial warehouse with folding chairs. http://members.iinet.net.au/~gregga/pensacola/kilpatrick/olives.html
Extractions: by Rick Stivers Even before our plane touched the tarmac the differences were glaring. Pensacola is set among sand and sunny beaches, while Toronto lies smack in the middle of a frigid ice field, at least when I've been there the last two Januarys. Everything else that meets the eye in these two centers of God's outpouring seems as strikingly different. Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship meets in a half finished industrial warehouse with folding chairs. Brownsville Assembly of God gathers in a beautiful open beam sanctuary complete with fabulous stained-glass windows and wooden pews. At TACF the unofficial dress of the platform speakers is dockers and a wrinkled sport shirt. The BAOG guys, on the other hand, could qualify for the cover of CGQ. (Christian Gentlemen's Quarterly.) So much for the variety of adornment, what about the substance? I've met men and women who have made the pilgrimage to Toronto and others who have taken the southern route to Pensacola. They all seem to come back the same! A renewed love for Jesus; an insatiable thirst for more of the Lord in their lives; a revived life of prayer and Bible reading; a broken and repentant heart; and a desire to share their renewed life with everyone they meet. From the fruit it would appear that the trees are more alike than they are different.

Toronto Blessing Goes On 10 Years But to regulars at the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church (now the toronto airport christian fellowship, or TACF), this was the work of the Holy Spirit, and the http://www.rickross.com/reference/general/general617.html
Extractions: By Ron Csillag Toronto Ten years ago this month, worshippers at a small church a stone's throw from this city's airport began laughing uncontrollably. They also made animal noises braying, barking, howling and roaring. They collapsed to the floor, staggered about as if drunk, shook and jerked; wept, wailed and yelped. Faces contorted with tics. Groans and guffaws hung in the air. Bodies lay prone on the carpet. To the uninitiated, this was eerie stuff, resembling mass hysteria more than religious worship. But to regulars at the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church (now the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, or TACF), this was the work of the Holy Spirit, and the genesis of a worldwide revival in the charismatic and Pentecostal movements. The phenomenon was first noticed on Jan. 20, 1994 and dubbed the Toronto Blessing by a glowing British press that acclaimed the strange signs and wonders at the church near the airport of Canada's largest city. "British Airways Flight 092 took off from Toronto Airport on Thursday evening just as the Holy Spirit was landing on a small building 100 yards from the end of the runway," enthused one widely circulated report.
Brownsville Revival Similar To One In Toronto denomination the Association of Vineyard Churches. The Toronto church has changed its name to the toronto airport christian fellowship. http://www.rickross.com/reference/brownsville/brownsville10.html
Extractions: By Alice Crann PENSACOLA - People frequently compare the Pensacola Brownsville Revival to the "Toronto Blessing." Both draw thousands of people from around the world. Both have been in existence for some time Brownsville's revival started in June 1995 and Toronto's in January 1994. Both promise an emotional and physical encounter with God. Both regard dramatically uncontrollable behavior as evidence of salvation and the presence of the Holy Spirit. A number of people who question the methods and theological fundamentals of the Brownsville Revival see indications that it was planned and modeled after what is going on in Toronto. The Toronto revival occurs at the Airport Vineyard Church, an independent charismatic church near Toronto's Pearson International Airport. John Arnott is the pastor and revivalist. The Toronto Blessing traces its origin to the signs and wonders philosophy of John Wimber, founder of the Vineyard faith, and to evangelist Rodney Howard-Browne, the exponent of the "holy laughter" concept. "Vineyard philosophy holds to a sound Christology but is steeped in psychology, inner healing, visualization, deliverance and occult-like experimental practices," said Albert James Dager. He heads an independent, nonprofit and nondenominational Christian watchdog organization based in Redmond, Wash. that analyzes Christian messages in the media.
After The Toronto Blessing... Gold Fillings Things are happening again at the toronto airport christian fellowship home of the Toronto Blessing, which brought laughter, stamping, kicking and a http://cargo.ship-of-fools.com/Features99/GoldFillings/TorontoGold.html
Extractions: 16th April 1999 It seems that God is filling his people once again, but this time it's molars and incisors which are getting the treatment, rather than hearts and lives. People have been leaving the prayer meetings in Toronto with shiny new gold fillings in their teeth; the work, they claim, of the Divine Dentist. And they're quoting, with a straight face, Psalm 81:10 in support of the miracle: 'Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.' The first report of this Midas miracle was at a Toronto Intercessors' Conference on 3rd March, where over 300 people claimed to have received new fillings, in some cases up to ten per mouth. 'I didn't personally receive this miracle,' says one believer, 'however I had the privilege of peering into many mouths...what a sight! One man had two beautiful, perfect, shiny, gold teeth and one of them had a cross engraved on it! I know this sounds impossible to believe, but I saw it with my own eyes! What an awesome God we serve!' In an official statement , the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship says it has encouraged people to verify the miracle fillings with their dentists. 'In a few cases,' the fellowship admits, 'dentists were able to show from their records that the gold was put in their mouths previously by the dentist and not by God.' However, the statement insisted that most claims of supernatural dentistry were standing up to scrutiny.
