It embraces with all Bible-believing churches the full range of Biblical and evangelical truth. Furthermore, its task is to present Christ in a manner focused on the understanding of the hearer, not of someone already in the church body. "Foursquare" is a Biblical term used to describe the tabernacle in the Book of Exodus, the Temple of the Lord in Ezekiel 40:47, and Heaven, as described in the Book of Revelation. Early in the 20th century, the term "foursquare" was often used to describe something or someone that was highly respected. It meant "solid", "balanced", "true". The term "Foursquare Gospel" was given as an inspiration to the denomination's founder, Aimee Semple McPherson , during an evangelistic campaign in Oakland, California in 1922. It represents that which is equally balanced on all sides, established and enduring. It also represents the four critical roles filled only by Jesus Christ: the Redeemer, the Great Physician, the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and the Coming King.

City of Euless Grace Community Church, a branch of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (based in California), is a growing congregation of some 400 members, currently housed in a 7,200 square foot building on Kynette Drive in a residential neighborhood of Euless, Texas. For more than three years, church leaders searched for a new, larger facility. Finally, they settled on a former Food Lion grocery store that has been vacant and for sale since 1995. The much larger (36,300 square foot) facility was considered ideal for the church's needs, and it was prepared to pay $900,000 for the building and adjacent parking. Euless, a suburban community just southwest of Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, does not have a specific zoning category for churches, which must obtain a "specific use permit" to locate anywhere in the city. The grocery store site is in a "C-1 Neighborhood Business District." The church applied for a specific use permit, but on October 15, 2002, by a vote of 4-3, the Euless Planning and Zoning Commission voted to reject the application. The decision was appealed to the Euless City Council, which affirmed the rejection by a vote of 5-2. Members of both bodies cited a desire to reserve the property for commercial use that would bring in tax revenue as their reason for rejecting the church application.

Using 1992 figures supplied by the Lausanne Statistics Task Force, headed by Dr. David Barrett, one out of every 310 believers in Jesus Christ, or one out of every 3,100 inhabitants in the world attend a Foursquare Church. It has been estimated that of every 100 persons who accept Jesus Christ as Savior, one will do so through the ministry of the Foursquare Church. More than 200 people groups previously classified by missiologists as yet "unreached" with the Gospel have been identified and touched by Foursquare evangelism and church planting.
