He hath, out of His own underived energy, created heaven and earth, and all that in them is.

In Loving Memory Of Robert William Alexander McFarland Page dedicated to the memory of Robert McFarland, who had been a christadelphian for many years when he died. Concentrates on his beliefs about life after death. http://www.mcfarland.co.uk/robert/
Extractions: 1 June 1930 - 26 June 1999 Since early 1997 Robert William Alexander M c Farland had suffered from angina. As the illness developed it became apparent that he needed heart bypass surgery. He was admitted to hospital on Sunday the 6 th June 1999 and had his operation the following day. It was a success, and he returned home one week later. On Saturday the 26 th June he collapsed and died due to a blood clot in his lung. He was at home, and the two oldest of his four sons, Matthew and Martin, and his daughter Sarah were with him. His third son, Andrew, was in Cambridge, England, at the time, having graduated a matter of hours before. His wife, Betty, and his sister in law, Isa, were on their way back to Belfast from Cambridge. His funeral was on Wednesday 30 th As many of you will know, Robert was a deeply religious man. He often said that, should he die before Christ returned, his funeral was to be used to explain his beliefs to friends, colleagues and family. In accordance with his wishes we will now look at what the Bible he loved so well teaches about death and resurrection. Robert firmly believed that death is a state of unconsciousness, like sleep. The Biblical basis for this is quite clear. For example, in Ecclesasties chapter 9 we read: "The living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing in the grave there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."
Extractions: CHRISTADELPHIANISM Based upon his claim to have re-discovered the gospel, alleging it to have been lost for nineteen hundred years, John Thomas, a nineteenth century doctor, established his religion of Christadelphianism. It was nothing more than a scenario derived from Old Testament Zionism, combined with Adventistic expectations of the coming of Christ. Trumpeting this as a discovery and the way to salvation, John Thomas bypassed the gospel of grace - the present day New Testament offer of forgiveness, acceptance, and assurance through cleansing of sin by the blood of Jesus. The Puritan Hope written by Iain Murray, is helpful in relation to the understanding and attitude held by Christians towards the Jews, Israel and Zion, in the centuries before Dr Thomas. It is certain that Dr Thomas did not discover anything new, he just gave what was understood an unwarranted twist, and added an unjustified implication, then presented the old as a new package. Followers of Dr Thomas were each required to express their mental acknowledgement of his gospel and a process of indoctrination was developed for each candidate to be schooled in the truth before being allowed into the camp. Switching the teaching of Jesus in a deceiving somersault of words, Dr. Thomas declared that the candidate, by holding a set of defined doctrines in the head (allegedly faith) and then being baptised, would then receive repentance and remission of sins. In this way Dr Thomas led his followers away from the day and way of salvation.
