Extractions: The 4th Panhellenic Conference on Algebra and Number Theory , with international participation, will be held in Patras, from May 30 until June 2, 2002. The conference is organized biannually by the Greek algebraists since 1996 and has taken place in Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete.The scientific program will consist of lectures given by invited speakers and short communications of 20 minutes. The topics of the lectures basically refer to: The conference will take place at the Conference and Cultural Hall of the University of Patras. The accommodation will be in hotels near the University at the nice area of Rion. The registration fee is expected to be very reasonable and it will cover the book of abstracts, the Proceedings of the Conference, transportation to and from the University, lunches, the welcoming reception, the official dinner and an excursion to an archaeological site. Social Events The Mathematics Department of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has long been known for the strength of its program in number theory. The department has a large and distinguished faculty noted for their work in this area, and the graduate program in number theory attracts students from throughout the world. At present over twenty students are writing dissertations in number theory. Each semester upper level graduate courses are offered in a variety of topics in analytic, algebraic, combinatorial, and elementary number theory. At least three regularly scheduled seminars are held each week, with lectures being given by faculty, graduate students, and visiting scholars. The lectures may be elementary introductions, surveys, or expositions of current research. Almost every year, our number theorists hold one or two conferences. Extractions: Welcome to Warut's home page I always like to look for interesting prime numbers . In other words, I'm a prime searcher . One of my interests is about primes in arithmetic progression (AP). My small example of 7 consecutive primes in AP was mentioned in an article by Ivars Peterson . I discovered record large progressions of 3 (not consecutive) primes with very little effort. This was possible with my novel prime-searching method that used known primes as seeds. Iago L. Camboa later used this technic to find the impressive record 2-prime Pythagorean triangle To find examples of 4 titanic primes in AP, I introduced another search method based on the fact that any large collection of prime numbers should contain a highly regular pattern (Ramsey theory). This technic was proved to be very useful. Paul Jobling later used it to discover the first known examples of 5 and 6 titanic primes in AP . I also used this method to find an example of 3 titanic palindromic primes in AP and the smallest progressions of palindromic primes . I shall give this definition and discuss the results in the direction of proving the conjecture. I'll then generalise the definition to abelian varieties of arbitrary dimension and discuss the extensions of the above results to the general setting.
