A native of Georgia, he moved to Baltimore, MD in 1991 to attend the Peabody Conservatory, and later study with composer Stuart Saunders Smith. Since 1997 Jeff has dedicated his energy to working as an improviser. His vocabulary is a synthesis of new-music ideas and structures informed by an understanding of diverse musical styles. Meanwhile Audiology was recorded in November 2001 in Berlin by the FMP label, which usually releases the sort of harsher, more unbending improv associated with Northern Europe. In truth, some of the most diffuse sounds on that disc come from IST, the one British band represented, if repeating the fact isn't trafficking in geographical stereotypes.

As an improviser Fox has collaborated most recently with Eugene Chadbourne, Ian Davis, Dave Menestre, Tara Flandreau and Martin Klapper Fox earned the B.A degree and the M.A. in piano performance from UNCG. He hooked up with Nick Webb in 1986 and formed Acoustic Alchemy. The band first signed with MCA's Master Series label where they debuted with "Red Dust" and "Spanish Lace." They have three Grammy nominations to their credit and a 2001 Jazz Trax "Album of the Year Award." Lee Ritenour was born on January 11, 1952 in Hollywood, California. He was classically trained and took lessons from Joe Pass and Howard Robert. He jammed with the likes of David Sanborn , Grover Washington Jr, Larry Carlton and Tom Scott at the Baked Potato in North Hollywood. Das Degenerate Art Ensemble aus Seatle (USA) war mit Sicherheit ein alle Erwartungen übertreffendes Ereignis, das so schnell nicht vergessen sein wird. Wir wollen dort zukünftig die Gelegenheit für weitere Jazz-Exceptions nutzen. Die Überlebenden der Jazztage dürfen sich hier aber erst mal auf einen Brunch und ein verdientes Chillout mit der Köstritzer Jazzband freuen. Gegründet 1994 auf Initiative der Köstritzer Schwarzbierbrauerei, besteht die Band aus 5 Musikern, die sich durch große Spielfreude und hervorragendes handwerkliches Können auszeichnen.
