Bees, now a WSU piano professor, was then a doctoral student at the University of Colorado. In the past few years Taylor has emerged as one of the nation’s foremost young musicians. Audiences and critics alike hail the intensity and artistry he brings to the works of masters ranging from Bach and Beethoven to Boulez and Bolcom. The Washington Post, for instance, deems Taylor "one of the most impressive young pianists on the horizon today." His program includes works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Olivier Messiaen and Robert Schumann. In recent seasons Taylor has performed in France, Korea, Spain, the Philippines, and the Caribbean. Maestro Dominick began his orchestral conducting career at Florida State University where he completed his graduate degrees in Orchestral Conducting and Historical Musicology simultaneously. It was while at FSU that he presented the world premiere of the musical Politico! and conducted the University Symphony Orchestra and several other groups. He will perform Opus 10 / 2 in F Major, Opus 10 / 3 in D Major, Opus 90 in E minor and the Waldstein Opus 53 in C Major. Mr. Shihor is currently performing the complete Beethoven Sonata cycle in a series of eight concerts at Zipper Hall in Los Angeles. According to New York Newsday, Ory Shihor is "the first important Israeli pianist to come along in years." He has established himself as one of the leading young pianists in America today with highly successful debuts in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh. Born in Tel Aviv, Mr. Shihor was a recipient of the America Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships from the age of 12. He came to the United States at the age 15 to work with Jorge Bolet at the Curtis Institute of Music, and later studied at the Juilliard School in New York, where he was a recipient of the prestigious Gina Bachauer Prize. His other teachers have included John Perry and Russell Sherman. Mr. Shihor resides in Los Angeles and is a faculty member at the Colburn School.
