SUPPORT THE FOO Martha Argerich performs the Rach 3 Posted by Hoochiebagoochie on Nov 17, 2003 at 11:31 AM The four second silence is broken by the orchestral introduction; fans and critics salivate with anticipation for what is to come, as this is Martha Argerich playing, a woman born to play the piano (Schonberg, 1987, p458). The simple beginning moments of the first movement are misleading in representing the piece as a whole, for to play the aptly titled Rach 3, the performer has to have mastered every conceivable technique for piano, from nearly impossible octave passages to rich, wholesome chords, and have enough experience performing to express the numerous emotional interpretations that this piece can yield.

Las Vegas Philharmonic Premier At Jetsetters Magazine The Season Finale for the Las Vegas Philharmonic will showcase pianist ValentinaLisitsa in a performance of Sergei Rachmanioff s Rhapsody on a Theme of http://jetsettersmagazine.com/archive/jetezine/classic/vegas03/lvphil/premier/pr
Extractions: Just as the erotic new Las Vegas show "Zumanity" is billed as "Another side of Cirque du Soleil," the season premiere of the Las Vegas Philharmonic could be called "Another side of American music." Don't worry - there was no nudity at tonight's gala performance; I'm speaking of the musical theme. The orchestra performed works by Schuman, Barber, and Dvorak, and the mood wasn't exactly perky piccolo solos, bombastic march music, and New England Yankees. If you didn't think American orchestral music was serious, this concert would change your mind.
