He has also appeared in recital at the Hall of Americas in Washington, D.C., New York's Town Hall, Stanford University, The University of Iowa, Western Illinois University, James Madison University, the Black Liberated Arts Center of Oklahoma City, and the State University of New York at Albany. In the summer of 1992 Shaw and his wife, pianist Anne Paolini, moved to the Minneapolis-St.Paul, where he took up a teaching position at the University of Minnesota School of Music. In April, 1993, he was featured in a faculty chamber music recital at Ferguson Hall, and the following month, he and Anne contributed memorably to the Chopin Society's Grand Piano Extravaganza. In March, 2000, he and Anne again performed together on the Plymouth Music Series 'American Voices' concert. On May 1st 2000, Shaw collaborated with the Minnesota Orchestra in Saint-Saens' 'Carnival of the Animals', and on June 5, directed the music-and-images program called 'Picturecital' at the Ted Mann Hall.

The concert is open to the public and admission is charged. Since Mr. Korevaar's debut in New York in 1985, he has received wide critical acclaim. Currently head of piano studies at the University of Bridgeport and artist-teacher at the Westport School of Music, he has performed at some of the nation's most prestigious concert halls, including Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and the Kennedy Center. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Mr. Korevaar studied with Earl Wild, the great American virtuoso, and with composer David Diamond. Mr. Korevaar has won top prizes in the William Kapell International Piano Competition and from the Peabody-Mason Music Foundation, as well as a special prize for his performances of French music from the Robert Casadesus Competition.

A top prize-winner in the 1988 William Kapell International Piano Competition and the 1986 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, he has performed to high critical acclaim at prestigious venues, including Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Beethovenhalle, Hall of the Americas and the Marlboro Music Festival. Born in Falmouth, near Montego Bay, Jamaica, Mr. Shaw's interest in music began with a toy piano his mother purchased at Woolworth's to teach him everything she had memorized from observing her guardian, a Kingston piano teacher, in secret. By age eight he was sight-reading hymns for church services, and at sixteen he won the Howard Cooke Award for Excellence in Music, Jamaica's highest classical music award in the annual Festival of Arts competition. Subsequent advanced studies, courtesy of the Jamaican Government, French Government, and William Petschek, Maro Ajemian and Isabel Mason Scholarships, led to a ten-year affiliation with noted American pianist William Masselos and three degrees - Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts - from New York's famed Juilliard School.
