Since his solo debut in 1982 in Rome, where he performed the famous Concertino da Camera by Jacques Ibert , Bornkamp received many invitations as soloist in compositions by Alexander Glazunow, Jacques Ibert, Darius Milhaud, Frank Martin, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Florent Schmitt and Claude Debussy . He has also appeared as soloist in contemporary compositions by Franco Donatoni, Luca Francesconi, Luciano Berio, Harrison Birtwistle, Louis Andriessen, Geert Van Keulen, Martijn Padding en Peter Van Onna. Het optreden vindt plaats om 20.00 uur in Zaal de Linck, ingang Muzelinck te Oss en wordt georganiseerd door Libris Boekhandel Derijks en de Bibliotheek Oss. Zowel in de bibliotheek als de boekhandel zijn vanaf nu toegangskaarten te koop voor 12,50. De activiteit maakt deel uit van de Culturele Coproducties. In 1991 was ze er opeens. Haar debuut, de gedichtenbundel Soldatenliederen, werd 'het opvallendste debuut van de afgelopen jaren genoemd. Ze werd direct herkend als een dichteres met een heel eigen stem en werd uitgenodigd voor De Nacht van de Poëzie en Poetry International. Anna Enquist (1945) studeerde piano en psychologie. Ze schrijft gedichten, romans en korte verhalen. In 1993 ontving zij voor Jachtscènes de Lucy B. en C.W. van der Hoogtprijs. In 1997 werd haar roman Het Geheim door de lezers gekozen tot Boek van het Jaar, waarvoor zij de Trouw Publieksprijs ontving. Dit jaar heeft zij het Boekenweekgeschenk 2002, De IJsdragers, geschreven. Iedereen die tijdens de Boekenweek voor 11,11 aan boeken koopt, krijgt deze novelle cadeau. Ivo Janssen studeerde bij Jan Wijn aan het Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. Tussen 1986 en 1990 won hij een aantal prijzen, waaronder de Jacques Vonk Prijs, die hem in staat stelde zijn studie in het buitenland voort te zetten bij o.a. Robert Levin. Sinds zijn debuut in 1988 treedt Ivo Janssen regelmatig op in binnen- en buitenland. In 1994 begon hij in samenwerking met het Nederlands Bach Collegium aan een zeer ambitieus project. Door Marjolijn Sengers Ik heb het al eens geschreven, het Philips Symfonie Orkest (PSO) vertegenwoordigt in zijn eentje de 'hoogste afdeling' van de amateur-symfonieorkesten in ons land! Het kan een programma aan waaraan menig beroepsorkest zich dreigt te vertillen, het speelt met een enthousiasme waaraan menig beroepsorkest een voorbeeld zou kunnen nemen. Zaterdag had dit orkest het zichzelf nog moeilijker gemaakt dan andere keren. Het speelde 'Capriccio Italien' van Tsjaikovsky, het pianoconcert in G van Ravel en de Symfonie nr. 5 van Prokovjef. In de werken van Tsjaikovsky en Prokovjef wordt van elke partij veel gevraagd maar hebben met name de soloblazers het moeilijk, het concert van Ravel is technisch lastig maar is vooral sfeergevoelig.

It didn't hurt, of course, that they were joined on stage by the woman considered by many to be the greatest mezzo-soprano in the world today, Olga Borodina, and by bass Evgeny Nikitin. Listening again to the carefully crafted, varied and spiritually rich music from Ivan reminded me that it is one of Prokofiev's most profound and theatrical scores, a synthesis and crowning summation of all he had done in film, ballet and opera during the preceding decades. The most unusual theatrical/symphonic event of the Festival occurred on 8 September, when the Rotterdam Young Philharmonic joined a group of distinguished Dutch actors under the direction of Guy Cassiers to present a semi-staged version of Eugene Onegin, accompanied by the incidental orchestral music Prokofiev composed for Alexander Tairov's production in 1936, as reconstructed by Sir Edward Downes. The actors (reading appropriate excerpts from Pushkin's novel) were placed at microphones behind the orchestra, and their faces were projected in close-up onto screens on either side of the stage, producing an unusual visual counterpoint. On 7 September, the Mariinsky Ballet and Orchestra gave two energetic and well-received performances of their staging of George Balanchine's choreography for Prodigal Son in the Rotterdam Schouwburg Theatre, along with the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet (in Leonid Lavrovsky's choreography) and a selection from Cinderella choreographed by Aleksei Ratmansky. To see Balanchine's choreography - long banned from the Mariinsky/Kirov company because of his status as an émigré living in America and restored to the repertoire in Russia - is highly gratifying. Two days later, Gergiev conducted the Rotterdam Philharmonic in a pensive reading of the symphony that Prokofiev later fashioned from the music to Prodigal Son, the Fourth Symphony, in the more expansive 1947 revision.
