She's a renowned young pianist, born in France, living in New York. From all reports, she's talented, passionated and brilliant. As you can see, she's also pretty attractive - and charismatic. But since I don't know much about classic music, I admit, it might not have been enough for me to notice her. But it didn't prevent me from recognizing something special in that lady, that I first identified when I was told about her second passion : wolves. I've always loved wolves, among other living creatures. So that might explain the connection. I'm not sure I'd have the same level of connection with them that she has, though - and that's a regret of mine. When you see her howling with the wolves of her park near New York, you can't help but think that behind her blue eyes lies a heart of wolf. She's one of them - and I mean it as a compliment. Her first encounter with a wolf happened in Florida, where she was walking a dog at night. She crossed by a man with a female wolf, and she felt a connection right away between her and the animal.

Extractions: If you like Brahms and/or just like piano repertoire, this d-minor masterpiece is a must have. And Ms. Grimaud's recording deserves to be heard as well. My favorite recording of this work so far is Alfred Brendel's. Leif Ove Andsnes has a wonderful recording as well. Be warned, some people complain that Grimaud's tempo for the 1st movement is too slow (alsmot as slow as glenn gould's infamous performance with leonard bernstein as conductor).
