MUSICAL WRITINGS T Fabio Grasso Studies Piano Prizes Concert Activity Composition Prizes Studies FABIO GRASSO, born in Vercelli (Italy) in 1969, began the musical studies in his town with Mario Barasolo and Jean Micault. He took the Piano Degree in 1986 with full marks and the mention ad honorem (Conservatory of Turin). In 1994 he obtained the Degree in Experimental Composition at the Conservatory of Milan, where he had as teachers Sandro Gorli, Umberto Rotondi and Guido Guida. In 1995 he became at last Doctor in ancient Greek Literature with full marks (Università del Piemonte Orientale). He accomplished specialization studies of Piano, at first with Marco Vincenzi, then with Maria Tipo (1991-1993) at the Music School of Fiesole, and of Composition with Giacomo Manzoni at the same school (1993 -1996). He also attended other special courses, like a piano stage at HdK Berlin, and a 3-years composition course of Franco Donatoni at Music Academy of Biella (Italy). Nel 1994 si è diplomato in Composizione sperimentale presso il Conservatorio di Milano, dove è stato allievo di Sandro Gorli e Umberto Rotondi, e nel 1995 si è laureato con lode in Letteratura Greca presso l'Università del Piemonte orientale. Contemporaneamente si è perfezionato in pianoforte prima con Marco Vincenzi e poi con Maria Tipo (1991-1993) alla Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, dove ha frequentato anche il corso di composizione di Giacomo Manzoni (1993-1996).
