Extractions: P. B. Archontides, Pianist P. B. Archontides is a Greek-Australian pianist who received his Associate of Music in piano performance from the N. S. W. State Conservatorium of Music with Honors, from the class of Elizabeth Powell (pupil herself of Claudio Arrau). While at the Conservatorium (Sydney University) he also won a scholarship to study with revered pianist and pedagogue Lev Vlassenko. Archontides continued his studies with distinguished soloist D. Toufexis at the Skalkotas Conservatory of Athens, where he was awarded the Artist Diploma in piano performance with first prize and gold medal. P. B. Archontides also holds degrees in Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue from the Skalkotas Conservatory, where he benefited from the tutelage of well-known Greek composer M. Travlos. In 1997 the pianist also graduated from the American College of Greece with a B.A. in Music with distinction. P. B. Archontides has given over 200 performances in Europe and Australia, including such prestigious concert halls as the Sydney Opera House, the Sibelius Academy of Music and the International Cultural Center- ATHENAEUM (Athens). He has won first and second prizes in Piano Competitions in Australia. Archontides has recorded for the National Television and the National Radio Station (ERA 3) in Greece. He is also the co-founder of a piano duet with pianist Natalie Tsaldarakis, with whom he is currently involved in recording the works for two pianos by Greek composers. P. B. Archontides is professor of Music at the American College of Greece (Pierce College), where he also attained the position of Pierce Choir Director. Mr. Archontides is also a Piano Professor and instructor of Higher Theoretical Studies at the National Conservatory of Music. He is on the faculty of the Athens Institute of Music since Spring

Extractions: Natalie Tsaldarakis, pianist Natalie Tsaldarakis was born in Stockholm, Sweeden. She began her music studies first in Italy and then, later on in Athens, Greece at the Hellinikon Conservatory. Her studies continued under soloist and pedagogue Dimitri Toufexis and other notable Julliard graduates, such as Danae Kara, Dr. Bedford and Dr. McHugh. All had the priviledge to transmit their love of beautiful tone and contemporary music, that was first instilled in them by the renowned William Masselos (himself the protege of Copland). Her studies lead to the award of a B.A. in Music from the American College of Greece with distinction, an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance also with distinction from the Polymnios Conservatory (class of D. Toufexis) and a Master of Music from the State University of Pennsylvania in West Chester (the birth place of another major composer, S. Barber). While studying at the Master's level, she held the positions of teaching assistant to the Keyboard Dept. (assistant to Prof. Schieck, pupil of the great Leschetitsky and author of a book on the teaching method of his master) and the Music Pedagogy Dept. Upon graduation, she was invited to membership by the National Honor Music Society PKL.
