L'emmerde c'est que c'est rarement un truc isolé, délirer sur l'alchimie çà implique aussi souvent de délirer sur tout un tas d'autres trucs classés occultes

Extractions: A George Archer I (-1675) Francis Epes came to America from England with three sons and thirty servants. When they granted him a patent 26 August 1635 , he listed his servants by name. One was George Archer. How long Archer remained in the service of Francis Epes, we do not know. Not until 1655 did George Archer obtain a patent for 550 acres in Henrico (now Chesterfield) County. George Archer is considered to have been of the Umberslade Archers of Warwickshire, England. He established his home at Archers Hall near present-day Colonial Heights, Chesterfield County, Virginia, and added to his plantation over the years by securing additional land patents and by buying neighboring real estate. His individual patents were 250 acres in 1663 , 784 acres in 1671 , and 1,393 acres in 1673. Thomas Mudgett sold Archer 125 acres next to land he already owned on the Appomattox River 22 October 1663. Archer had a will though we no longer have a copy of it. Consequently, we cannot identify all of his children. We do not know who his wife, Mary , was. Historians once believed George married the daughter of Maj. Gen. Abraham Wood

Extractions: The Way We Were C hromatography is one of the most truly chemical methods for manipulating and understanding the natural world. It is an enabling technology for a wide range of products and discoveries, including those of more than a half-dozen Nobel Prize winners. All of the various forms of chromatography rely on differential solubility or adsorption of compounds to separate molecules between a stationary phase and a mobile phase (Figure 1; Table 1). The history of chromatography is a history of discovery - of new phases, new methods of detection, and new applications for old techniques. From the first use of filter paper to examine plant pigments in the mid-nineteenth century to the development of the most modern high-pressure columns and affinity gels, today chromatography continues as one of the fundamental tools of modern biotechnology, providing much of the technological justification behind chemistry's claim of being "the central science."
