The Right Livelihood Award people. It has become widely known as the Alternative nobel Prize and there are now over 100 laureates from 48 countries. This http://www.rightlivelihood.se/
Extractions: ON BEHALF OF OUR PLANET AND ITS PEOPLE The idea of 'right livelihood' is an ancient one. It embodies the principle that each person should follow an honest occupation which fully respects other people and the natural world. It means being responsible for the consequences of our actions and taking only a fair share of the earth's resources. In every generation, there are groups of people and individuals around the globe who valiantly uphold these principles of right livelihood. They should be the stars in our human cosmos, but their work often entails personal sacrifice, being opposed by powerful forces around them. The Right Livelihood Award was established in 1980 to honour and support such people. It has become widely known as the 'Alternative Nobel Prize' and there are now over 100 laureates from 48 countries. This Award exists to strengthen the positive social forces that its recipients represent and to provide the support and inspiration needed to make them a model for the future. It has been said that if the Nobel Prizes reflected world concerns of the 20th century, the Right Livelihood Award should epitomise those of the 21st.

Robert Lucas Wins Nobel Prize In Economics Article describing the reaction at the University of Chicago, to Robert Lucas winning the nobel Prize. http://chronicle.uchicago.edu/951012/lucas.shtml
Extractions: contact Prize awarded to U of C faculty member for fifth time in six years Applause from dozens of well-wishers, handshakes from three fellow Nobel laureates and a flurry of attention from reporters, photographers and television crews were all part of an extraordinary day for Robert Lucas and what has come to be an almost ordinary early October day for the University. Lucas, it was announced Tuesday, has been awarded the 1995 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. He is the fifth University of Chicago economist to win the Nobel in the last six years. Lucas, who is the John Dewey Distinguished Service Professor in Economics and the College and who received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Chicago, won the Nobel "for having developed and applied the hypothesis of rational expectations, and thereby having transformed macroeconomic analysis and deepened our understanding of economic policy." The Swedish Academy of Sciences in its release called him "the economist who has had the greatest influence on macroeconomic research since 1970." Lucas' work has had a profound effect on macroeconomics, or the study of the economy as a whole. His worked has shown that because people make rational decisions about their economic welfare, their actions can alter the expected results of government economic policies. The result is a rethinking of the effect of government economic policies. Because of Lucas' work, economists today are better informed and less optimistic about the ability of governments to fine-tune economies through changes in monetary or other policies.

Extractions: So, who is Shri Mataji? Caiaphas asked Jesus: "Are you the son of God?" When Jesus replied affirmatively, the Pharisees sent him to Pontius Pilatus and to the cross. Sometimes peole ask and do not want to know. Sometimes people ask and do not want to believe. But if we ask because we are genuinely interested, and honest, then, only in meditation can we get close to the subject, in a living and experimental manner. All the rest is words, and words are just that: ambivalent and unconvincing. The history of spirituality shows that spiritual masters are fought by the mainstream establishment when they are alive and worshipped when they are dead in order to take advantage of their legacy. My advice to those who would like to know the truth about Shri Mataji's unique and historical advent on this earth is to get access to self realisation through the proven technique of sahaja yoga and go deeper in meditation where responses unfold.
