Extractions: listserv The schedule for the 48th Annual MMPC is now posted. To promote maximum participation, we try to flexible as possible in our deadlines. Please contact the director if you need some accomodation. The Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition is offered by the Michigan Section of the Mathematical Association of America to encourage students to develop their interests and abilities in mathematics. Part I of the MMPC is open to all students in Michigan high schools. This exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions involving topics from high school mathematics. From approximately 14,000 participants in Part I, the top 1,000 students are invited to take Part II of the MMPC. There students work on five challenging problems and write their solutions providing full justification and proof of their claims. The students with the top 100 scores in the two parts of the competition are honored at an awards program. Approximately $32,000 in scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,600 are awarded each year.

Extractions: This site currently includes about 4,100 olympiad problems and about 1,700 other problems. I have given solutions for about 2,300 Olympiad problems (and almost all the Putnam and AIME problems). My ultimate objective is to include a wide variety of interesting problems of all levels of difficulty. In general, I have no interest in pure bookwork problems. If anyone wants to supply solutions, I am particularly interested in the missing solutions to the Iberoamerican olympiad. Two features about the site are unusual. The first is that I strive for completeness. There are often many sites that give the last few years' problems for an olympiad, but this is usually the only site that gives all the problems. The second is that I try to put up solutions. Inevitably solutions will lag the problems, maybe by years! I am currently trying to collect the Polish olympiad problems (last round, highest level as usual). So far I have only found 1982 onwards. The olympiad seems to go back to 1950. Any help in getting the missing problems would be much appreciated. I am also trying to collect the Spanish olympiad problems (last round). So far I have only found 1990 onwards. Any help with earlier years would be appreciated. Spanish language would be fine.
