It is said that if the neutrino is massless (which now seems in doubt) then neutrinos only come in one handedness (I think "chirality" is the proper word). But is this really true? I was thinking about Mobius strips and non-orientable surfaces in general. I thought I heard someone say once that if the universe were a non-orientable surface, then it would be possible for an object to make a trip "around" the universe and thereby change its handedness. A right-hander could make the trip and become a lefty. So, I would think that a neutrino could make the trip and become a neutrino of opposite chirality. Am I right about this effect of travelling through a Mobius-like universe? If so, does that mean that the standard model is only consistent with a non-Mobius topology? Daryl McCullough CoGenTex, Inc.
