Larry Tabick
Organisation: Shir Hayim-Hampstead Reform Jewish Community
Website: www.tabick.abel.co.uk
A biased assessment by himself: Larry Tabick is the laziest member of the Tabick clan. You are likely to find him immersed in a mystical book, a jazz classic, or both. But, the fact is that modesty is his greatest virtue. Don’t believe it? Just ask him! Sessions:
Jackie Tabick
Organisation: North West Surrey Synagogue
An objective assessment by her husband: Jackie has never rested on her notoriety as Britain’s first woman rabbi. Instead, she fills her time as a congregational rabbi, chair of the World Congress of Faiths, vice-president of the Reform movement (RSGB) and matriarch of the Tabick clan. And can she cook!

Clarence Cameron White, 1880-1960, was one of the country's outstanding composers and violinists of the first half of the twentieth century, with performances to his credit at the principal concert halls in the United States and Europe. His concert tours as a violinist received critical acclaim, and he was rated highly among concertizing artists of his period. Mr. White studied at the Oberlin Conservatory and in Europe. In addition to activities as violinist and teacher in Boston (1912-23) and New York City, he was director of music at West Virginia State College (1924-30) and at Hampton Institute (1932-35). His compositions for the violin include Bandanna Sketches and arrangements of spirituals, and he also wrote an opera Ouanga (1932), based on Haitian history. Born in Clarksville, Tenn., Clarence Cameron White spent his childhood in Oberlin, Ohio, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Washington, D.C. He began studying the violin at the age of eight and wrote his first composition for violin and piano at age fourteen. After graduating from Howard University, White entered the Oberlin Conservatory in 1896 and graduated in 1901. He continued his studies and performed in Boston, New Haven, and New York where he drew the attention of Paul Laurence Dunbar, Harry T. Burleigh, and Booker T. Washington. In 1903 he was invited to join the Washington [D.C.] Conservatory, and he also later taught in public schools there. In the following year he met African-British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor with whom he studied in London in 1906 and again in 1908-11. After performing throughout Europe he established a studio in Boston where he conducted the Victoria Concert Orchestra from 1914 until 1924.
