MCAT Test Introduction
The MCAT test is taken by students who are interested in furthering their academic careers and want to be accepted into medical school. The competitiveness of medical school admissions dictates a good minimum score as a minimum to even be considered by some colleges. The MCAT test covers 4 content areas: Writing, Verbal Reasoning, Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences. The MCAT test is sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges. The MCAT test is designed to be one of the first hurdles in your medical career. Consequently, the questions focus on your ability to apply knowledge that you have learned in past experiences related to the Sciences, Verbal Reasoning, and Writing. The MCAT test requires that you understand the English language for the MCAT test.

Pre MedExperience.com How long have you been thinking about going to medical school? I started thinking and planning for medical school when I was sophomore in college. I hadn’t made the best decisions in my freshman year and didn’t really know were to turn for high quality medical school admission advice. I had the option of paying for an advisor to get information about going to medical school, but this would have been extremely expensive. So I opted for a go it alone approach and this is some of the information I have collected. Test Stress: The biggest obstacle I had facing directly in front of me was taking the MCAT exam. The MCAT covers biology, physics, chemistry, writing, and reading comprehension. The hardest areas I found were chemistry and physics. The best practice I found on the internet can be found at http://www.testprepresearch.com/mcat For a small fee I was able to download numerous practice questions that provided high quality MCAT practice. I also used the website: http://www.mcatprepinfo.com to provide me with extra free chemistry and physics questions. After purchasing some of the better study guides on the internet, I was all set to begin the tedious process of learning the information.

MCAT STAT: Science Online
The MCAT is a make-or-break test. If you do well on it, you're almost certainly going to get into medical school. If you don't, you've got to scramble. The MCAT isn't the hardest part of becoming a doctor, but it is a necessary evil. It pays to prepare for this exam professionally. That means you need to be disciplined and focused. Sometimes the amount of material you have to know seems overwhelming. In fact, it's a finite, and relatively small amount of information - well, small compared to what you'll learn in your first two years of medical school, anyway. Having taught MCAT prep for several years, here's my take on the best way to prepare for the MCATs:

The Medical College Admission Test measures a medical college applicant’s problem solving, critical thinking, and writing skills, as well as knowledge of science concepts. Verbal reasoning questions:
There are nine passages, each of which is followed by a series of questions. The passages are drawn from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Unlike the questions in the specific science sections, the questions in verbal reasoning are based solely on the passages and do not require any supplementary knowledge. Physical science questions:
Writing sample:
You will write essays on two separate topics. As part of the essay, you must explain the given statements, describe specific situations that illustrate your approach to those statements, develop alternative approaches to the problem, and incorporate all of this into cogent essays, clearly written and well organized. Biological science questions:
There are ten problem sets accompanied by a series of questions that require you to have a knowledge of basic biology and organic chemistry, on topics including molecular biology, cells, various systems (circulatory, lymphatic, immune, digestive, excretory, muscular, skeletal, etc.), genetics, organic chemistry, and spectroscopy. In addition, there are 15 individual problem sets.

"Healthy" Medical School Admissions
Without the MCAT
What is the MCAT? The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) serves as the entry screening assessment for most U.S. medical schools. Developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and administered to over 55,000 students annually, the 6-hour exam consists of 221 multiple-choice items and two essays. Divided among four sections, scores on Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Verbal Reasoning are each reported on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 15 (highest). The Writing Sample receives a score of 1 to 6, converted to an alphabetical scale ranging from J (lowest) to T (highest). The MCAT does a poor job of predicting success in medical According to the AAMC, the MCAT is designed to "assess mastery of basic concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics; facility with scientific problem solving and critical thinking; and writing skills." According to several independent researchers however, the skills the MCAT tests relate most closely to the first two years of medical school classroom work but have little relevance in predicting success during clinical training or actual practice as a physician. William McGaghie writes in the journal
