Arizona hosts a large semiconductor community, including companies such as Intel and Motorola, and universities such as Arizona State University. Flagstaff is located in alpine country at 7000 feet (2000 m) of elevation and is close to natural attractions such as the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Monument Valley. A conference excursion and a western style banquet are planned. Attractive programs for accompanying persons will be organized. Venue and Accommodation The conference will be held at Northern Arizona University (NAU), located within walking distance of downtown Flagstaff. The university has a student population of over 20,000 and modern facilities that include an auditorium with 1500+ capacity and several large lecture rooms. Flagstaff is located 150 miles (240 km) north of Phoenix and 250 miles (400 km) east of Las Vegas. Most participants will arrive at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Scheduled flights between Phoenix and Flagstaff are available, and bus transportation from the Sky Harbor airport to the conference site will also be provided. Attractive and affordable dormitory accommodation will be offered on campus, and rooms will be available at conference rates in several hotels within walking distance of the conference site.
