Freeport Indonesia, which operates in the Province of Irian Jaya, Indonesia. The bibliography is still very much in progress and will be updated and revised over the next few years. It has been developed initially as a personal research tool and thus betrays a number of idiosyncracies in terms of its scope, range of sources and format: Scope The bibliography is limited to the operations of PT. Freeport Indonesia, which currently consist of mining and exploration activities in the province of Irian Jaya (by both Freeport and its wholly owned subsidiary, PT. Eastern Irja Minerals), and the construction of a smelter facility at Greik in Java (PT. Smelting Company). Separate bibliographies (not included here) cover the two communities indigenous to Freeport’s original “Contract of Work A” area, the highland Amungme and lowland Kamoro. A number of topics are either only cursorily addressed or specifically excluded in this bibliography. No attempt has been made to cover the geological literature in any exhaustive way - for the large part, geological items are included only where they are of a general or review nature. There is also little coverage of the service industries relating to the mineral resource sector, such as construction, catering and other support businesses. Finally, private documents and those that are restricted to internal circulation within governments, companies or other agencies, are not included in this bibliography, unless they have been deposited in the public domain (e.g. in a public library or on a website).

Other Kirkland Lake Gold Project, Ontario The Kirkland Lake project was held by a 50-50 joint venture with Franco-Nevada Mining Corporation Limited between 1996 to 2002. The JV was formed to systematically explore for new and deeper gold deposits in one of Canada's highest grade gold camps. In 2002, Franco-Nevada merged with Newmont Mining and Normandy Mining to form Newmont Mining Corporation. Subsequent to the merger, on July 19, 2002, Queenston purchased Newmont's interest in the JV. This has given Queenston sole possession of one of Canada's premiere gold exploration projects. Property and Assets With a combination of 742 patented, leased and unpatented mineral claims (12,000 ha) the Company controls the single largest, contiguous land package ever assembled in this historic camp. On the property 4 mines (Sylvanite, Upper Canada, McBean, Upper Beaver) have produced 3.4 million ounces of gold and there exists 5 gold deposits (Upper Canada, McBean, Anoki, AK, 180 East) with combined measured + indicated resources of 4,134,453 t averaging 5.6 g/t (approx. 744,000 oz.) and inferred resources of 4,474,568 t averaging 5.3 g/t (approx. 763,000 oz.) The mineral resources reported for the Kirkland Lake gold project are classified in accordance with definitions and guidelines adopted by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). In addition to the deposits, there occur 50 gold showings-zones on the JV property and an office located at the Upper Canada Mine.
