Welcome Note by the Director of ICS-FORTH
Welcome to the Web site of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Since its establishment in 1983, the Institute has a relatively long history and recognized tradition conducting basic and applied research, developing applications and products, providing services, and playing a leading role in Greece and internationally, in the sectors of Information and Communication Technologies. Activities of the Institute cover important research and development areas, taking into consideration new perspectives, emerging fields of research and technological challenges worldwide. Continuing its efforts towards the exploitation of its research activities and results, the Institute contributes significantly to the diffusion of modern Information and Communications Technologies in the public and private sectors. Thus, the Institute acts as a catalyst for the development of the Greek Information and Communication Technologies Industry and the formation of favourable conditions for the emergence of an Information Society acceptable by all citizens.

171. Conferences Logic-Related
In the last few years, ever more events overlapping in technical scope with LICS (Symposium on Logic in computer science) are scheduled with no coordination, often causing conflicts 1995 LICS and FPCA were at the exact same time and place. This page attempts to aid coordination.

Logic-Related Conferences
Over the last few years there has been a proliferation of conferences that overlap in their technical scope with LICS (the Symposium on Logic in Computer Science). These conferences are scheduled with no prior coordination among them, which results quite often in conflicts. For example, in 1995 LICS and FPCA were at exactly the same time and the same place with no prior coordination. In attempt to address this situation, the LICS organization will maintain this web page of conferences (and workshops) that have an overlap with logic in computer science. The first half of the page is an incomplete list of dates , some tentative and some fixed, for upcoming meetings of some of these conferences. The second half is a list of conferences and associated contacts. If you are an organizer of one of these conferences and have some information you would like to include here, please send mail to lics-request@logik.mathematik.uni-freiburg.de.
Calendar
Some of the dates below are tentative.
May 4-6: Logic and Applications , Novosibirsk, Russia May 14-19: ACM Symposium on Principles of Database Systems (PODS 2000) , Dallas, Texas May 21-23: ACM Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC 2000) , Portland, Oregon June 13-15: NASA Langley Formal Methods Workshop (LFM 2000) ,Williamsburg, Virginia June 17-20: Conference on Automated Deduction (CADE-17) , Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania June 26-29: IEEE Symposium on Logic in Computer Science (LICS 2000) , Santa Barbara, California July 3-5: International Workshop on First-Order Theorem Proving (FTP'00) , St Andrews, Scotland
