Sub-par sports facilities in Navasota have youth sports coaches embarrassed and cause the city to miss out on potentially lucrative tournaments, the president of the Grimes County Little League Association told the Parks and Recreation Board last week.
In order to make up these games, some teams are playing road games, which costs the league $217 for insurance each time a team visits a different field.
The facilities shortage also is affecting the girls softball league, which plays at a different site than the Little League fields.
As a result of a lack of facilities, Dotson said 39 girls chose to play elsewhere for the current season. Additionally, since the girls softball fields are located near the airport and are not played on frequently, the scoreboard is a frequent victim of vandalism and is not operational.

The list also includes government agencies, sports-related groups, and academic centers that are active in tracking sports injuries. The list is divided into three sections: sports medicine organizations groups and committees that generate sports medicine information, and statistics-gathering groups .
