Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Cauldron Park The spirit of Salt Lake 2002 lives on at Olympic Cauldron Park, a stunning new space set high on a city hillside. Adjacent to Rice-Eccles Stadium, site of Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the park has preserved the very best of the XIX Olympic Winter Games. Salt Lake 2002 Cauldron At the park's center stands the cauldron itself, a technological marvel of glass and steel that cradled the Olympic Flame from February 8 to 24, 2002. Today, pools of water, shade trees and benches surround the Olympic Cauldron, allowing for reflection on the power to inspire. Memories from each day of the Salt Lake 2002 Games grace large outdoor panels behind the cauldron. The Hoberman Arch The striking Hoberman Arch, with its unique, spiraling curtain of steel, has been moved from its original location at Olympic Medals Plaza to Olympic Cauldron Park. Members of the public can now stand in the very same spot where athletes received their medals and superstars belted out songs before crowds of 20,000. Salt Lake 2002 Visitor Center And the chills, thrills and spills come rushing back to life at the Salt Lake 2002 Visitor Center, where an incomparable art gallery and theater present the greatest moments of the Games in startlingly familiar and unfamiliar ways. In the gallery, more than 50 Olympic images from the country's top photographers have been collected and curated into a luminous exhibition of humanity, courage and Olympism.
