Extensive Sport Science Library for athletes, trainers and coaches; covering stamina, strength, fitness, and the treatment of sports injury.
    http://www.pponline.co.uk/
Case study from The World Sports Science Training Workbook:
Have you ever watched a top sprinter and realised just how fast they are running? Kim Collins would get a speeding ticket in built-up areas! And what about the slam-dunk in basketball? How on earth do players like Shaquille O'Neal leave planet earth and attain such height? And what of Matthew Pinsent and James Cracknell? Unbridled, these rowers would seem to be able to tear their boat apart! Wherever you look in the world of top-class sport, power counts; and the following case study from The World Sports Science Training Workbook shows one of the best ways to develop this most precious commodity is through plyometric training.
    Plyometric exercises
Plyometric exercises develop this recoil. Muscle fibre stores more elastic energy and transfers more quickly and powerfully from the eccentric to the concentric phase.
    Combining weight training with plyometrics
Weight training, used correctly, has a vital role to play in laying the foundations for generating specific sports-related power. Unlike traditional weight training, plyometric drills can closely mimic both the movement pattern and the speed of execution of actual sports performance. A larger and stronger muscle built up by weight training will be able to generate greater force plyometrically, and strengthened tendons and muscles will be less prone to strains and pulls. Combining weight training with plyometrics is also used for a heightened fast twitch muscle fibre response.

    http://ar.geocities.com/animeymanga1/ba.html

    Athletes
Athletes and dancers may face a greater risk for the development of an eating disorder. The incidence of eating disorders among athletes continues to be on the rise especially for those involved in sports that emphasize being thin. It is estimated that up to 62 percent of females who participate in "appearance sports" such as gymnastics, figure skating, dancing, and diving are suffering from an active eating disorder. High incidence of eating disorders also occur in endurance sports that emphasize low body weights such as running, cycling and cross country skiing; sports that have weight classifications such as wrestling, horse racing and crew; and sports were the clothing is revealing such as swimming, volleyball, track, cheerleading and bodybuilding. Judges in sports where athletes are evaluated on technical and artistic forms have admitted they consider thinness to be an important factor in deciding excellence and have even told athletes they should lose weight to achieve their athletic goals. This was the case with the elite gymnast Christy Henrich, who stated that a United States gymnastic judge told her she was too fat and needed to lose weight if she wanted to make the Olympic team. Christy felt this statement was the impetus for her to severely restrict her food intake in order to make weight. At the age of 22, Christy Henrich died as a result of her eating disorder. When their bodies are being constantly assessed personally and by coaches, judges and spectators, it is understandable why so many athletes fall prey to disordered eating.

I started the Syn-flex as recommended (double dose for 10 days) and I noticed a little improvement but it was more around the 2 to 3 week area that I noticed a big difference. I still have intermittent dull pain, but nothing like before. My shoulders have been the problem area, and lifting weights was very painful before. I plan on continuing with the Syn-flex , to relieve the pain obviously, but also to insure my joints stay healthy for my lifting program.
