Historique et esprit du Tae Kwon Do:
  • Bref historique du Tae Kwon Do
  • Esprit du Tae Kwon Do

A History of Tang Soo Do 190-265CE The Chinese surgeon, Hua To, developed a series of health exercises based on Chinese medicine and philosophy. These exercises imitate the movements of five animals; Deer, Tiger, Bear, Monkey, and Bird. The exercises are known as the "Frolics of the Five Animals. " Aerobic in nature, these exercises were the forerunners of Chinese martial arts, specifically Tai Chi Chuan (Grand Supreme Fist). 300-427CE In 1934, a group of Japanese archaeologists discovered Muyong Chong and Kakchu Chong, two royal tombs dating back to the Koguro dynasty. The tombs were located in Tungku, China, in the Tung-hun providence of Manchurin where Koguro had its capital. The ceiling of the Muyong Chong carried a painting portraying two unarmed men confronting each other. The mural painting of the Kakchu Chong shows two men wrestling. 495CE The Shao Lin Temple (Si Lum Ssu in Korean) was built at the foot of the western slope of the mountain of Songshan, outside the city of Lo-Yang in the province of Ho Nan, in the kingdom of Wei, China. It was constructed for a Hindu monk known as Batuo (Fu Tuo) by Emperor Hsaio-Wen, for the purpose of translating Buddhist and other foreign doctrine into Chinese. Batuo is often depicted as a fat, pot-bellied monk, and is sometimes referred to as the "happy Buddha. " Shao Lin (Si Lum) derives its name from the pine forest in which the temple was built. Shao Lin means "young forest."

    Tae Kwon Do
    Intro:
One of the most popular sports and martial arts in the world.
    Origin:
    Korea
    History:
The five original Korean Kwans ("schools") were:
    • Chung Do Kwan Moo Duk Kwan (the art of Tang Soo Do) Yun Moo Kwan Chang Moo Kwan Chi Do Kwan Ji Do Kwan Song Moo Kwan Oh Do Kwan.
    Description:
Primarily a kicking art. There is often a greater emphasis on the sport aspect of the Art. Tae-Kwon-Do stylists tend to fight at an extended range, and keep opponents away with their feet. It is a hard/soft, external, fairly linear style. It is known for being very powerful.
    Training:
Training tends to emphasize sparring, but has forms, and basics are important as well. There is a lot of competition work in many dojongs. The World Taekwondo Federation is the governing body recognized by the International Olympic Committee, and as a result WTF schools usually emphasize Olympic-style full contact sparring. The WTF is represented in the U.S. by the U.S. Taekwondo Union (USTU). The International Taekwondo Federation is an older organization founded by Hong Hi Choi and based out of Canada. It tends to emphasize a combination of self-defense and sparring, and uses forms slightly older than those used by the WTF.

    História doTaeKwon-do

    History of Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do is thought to have its origin nearly 2000 years ago during the Three Kingdoms era of Korean History, about 50 B.C. Archeological evidence from both the Silla and Koguryo dynasties reveals early martial arts practices felt to be the foundation of modern Tae Kwon Do. It was then known as 'Taek Kyon'. Evidence that Martial Arts were being practiced at that time can be found in tombs where wall-paintings show two men in fighting-stance. Others reject this evidence and say that these men could be dancing as well. (These wall murals can also be found on the walls of the North Dojang!) At that time there were three kingdoms: Koguryo (37 B.C. - 668 A.D.) Paekje (18 B.C. - 600 A.D.) Silla (57 B.C. - 936 A.D.) It was in 936 A.D. when Wang Kon founded the Koryo dynasty, an abbreviation of Koguryo. The name Korea is derived from the name Koryo. During the Koryo dynasty (10th - 14th centuries) Soo Bak Do reached pre-eminence, for protection of the country and to enhance health, for sports and for virtue. However, in the Joseon dynasty (1392 A.D. - 1910 A.D.) the popularity declined. King Taejo, founder of the Joseon-dynasty, replaced Buddhism by Confucianism as the state religion. According to Confucianism, the higher class should read poems and play music. Martial arts was something for the common, or even inferior, man. In the early portion of the 20th century, Japan occupied Korea. During this time, Korean martial arts and other customs were banned. Tae Kwon Do went underground to resurface after the liberation of Korea in 1945. Since then Tae Kwon Do has become increasingly popular, first in Korea and then throughout the world.

THE HISTORY OF TAE KWON DO Well over two thousand years ago, when Kyoungju was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Silla, in what is now Korea, two giants were carved on the tower wall of a Budhist temple. The giants are facing each other assuming a fighting stance as if they were practicing a martial art. These giants undoubtedly represent the early developments of the modern art of fighting known today as Tae Kwon Do. Records show that Tae Kwon Do was practiced as early as about 50 BC. During this time, Korea was divided into three Kingdoms: Silla, Koguryo and Baekche. Paintings on the ceiling of the Muyong-chong, a royal tomb from the Koguryo dynasty, provide us with evidence of the practice of Taek Kyon, the earliest known form of Tae Kwon Do. These as well as other paintings show unarmed combat using techniques that resemble those of modern Tae Kwon Do, specially the use of the knife hand, fist and classical fighting stances. Although Tae Kwon Do first appeared in the Koguryo kingdom, it is Silla's warrior nobility, the Hwarang, who are credited with the growth and spread of the art throughout Korea. Out of the three kingdoms, Silla was the first to be formed but it remained the smallest and less civilized. Silla's coastline was constantly under attack by Japanese pirates. King Gwahggaeto, the 19th monarch in the Koguryo dynasty line, sent armed forces to help his neighboring kingdom fight the pirates. It was at this time that Taek Kyon was first introduced to Silla's warriors class, taught directly and in secret to a few Sillan warriors by early masters of the art.

    ETTERKRIGSTIDA
Skole Leder Grunnlagt Chung Do Kwan Won Kook Lee Moo Duk Kwan Hwang Kee Yun Moo Kwan Sup Chun Sang Chang Moo Kwan In Yoon Byung Chi Do Kwan Yon Kue Pyang Oh Do Kwan Choi Hong Hi, Nam Tae Hi Ji Do Kwan Gae Byang Yun Song Moo Kwan Byung Chik Ro
Men Gen. Choi Hong Hi ledelsen.

"A National Sport, Taekwondo”-Proclaimed by Korean President Park Chung Hee in 1971 What is Tae Kwon Do? Taekwondo is a 2000 year old Korean martial art, the national sport and martial art of Korea. Originally known as Taekyon, Taekwondo has been used throughout Korean history to protect the Korean peninsula from invading Chinese and Japanese armies. Today it is a dynamic form of self-defense and physical fitness, excellent for women and children and people of all ages. Men and women from eight to eighty have reaped the benefits of Taekwondo. Taekwondo will also be an official sport at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Tae Kwon Do was at first called "Taekyun", or Kicking and Punching, and was used almost 2000 years ago during the Three Kingdoms Period by the Korean knights, or Hwarang. The Hwarang Knights of the Kingdom of Silla were the Korean equivalent of the medieval European knights, following a code of chivalry morally grounded in Buddhism. The purpose of the training, however, was Confucian-service to the Government and King. The Hwarang were skilled in many areas of combat, including archery, horseback riding, weaponry, wrestling, swordsmanship, and taekyon. It should be noted however, there was never a single martial art called Hwarangdo, instead several arts practiced by the Hwarang knights After the three Korean Kingdoms unified, taekyon became known as subak. Subak was practiced extensively by the Korean military in what is known as the Middle Period. This period lasted from approximately 800 A.D to 1476 A.D. It was at this time that subak became one of the most effective martial arts the world had seen, practiced by the military and the common people alike, both as a military form of self defense and popular recreation. Several stories were written concerning subak matches, a precursor to modern free fighting, and the King was reputed to have enjoyed watching subak contests.
