    News: Kayaking for Cancer
Those lucky sea kayakers who attended the Northland KASK Forum in November were greatly moved by a presentation from Simon Osborne, a young English kayaker who circumnavigated Britain in 2001 to raise money for Cancer. He did this as a memorial to his late brother who had died of leukaemia some years previously. Simon raised nearly $70,000.
He’s off again, once again kayaking for cancer and this time planning to circumnavigate Ireland.
Auckland sea kayaker, Mike Randall, received this email from Simon. O n the 20 th of June I will be setting off from Holyhead to cross the Irish Sea and start Kayaking for Cancer 2004 . During this summer I intend to circumnavigate Ireland to raise money for Leukaemia Research (LRF) in memory of my brother Mark. During the summer of 2002 I successfully completed a circumnavigation of Great Britain raising £22,000 for LRF.
