UPDATE!!
No new news to report...sorry I've been out of town. We should have a survey up shortly concerning hockey returning to Abilene, courtesy of Professor Michael Winegeart of ACU.
What can I say...I'm forcing myself to watch!
The Av's...hmmmm can't stand "zee Wah" (I mean come on the guy talks to his goal post...LOL).
Pittsburgh...I'm really tired of the whole "Mario Fever" thing (YES! I know he's an awesome hockey player, but it's getting old).
New Jersey...They took our Cup, really think I'm going to root for them?
The Blues...well the Blues gave me the "blues" can't bring myself to cheer for them either!
But...for the moment it's all the hockey I can find so...guess I'll take what I can get, and may the "best" team win...UGH!! ;)
It's been hard to watch without my Stars there :(
Just a note though!
At least this year there are several of our Stars that are getting to spend some much needed time with family and friends...Contracts are being signed and players being considered. I think we'll see some changes with the Stars next season...I'll try and keep everyone posted! OUR MISSION To bring hockey back to Abilene!

The nature of the relationship between an American professional ice hockey player and his housemate has generated attention and speculation across the USA since the player's murder-for-hire arrest on Friday.
Mike Danton, a forward for the St. Louis Blues, was apprehended in San Jose, California, after a National Hockey League (NHL) playoff game and charged with plotting to hire a hitman. The target: the man who shares Danton's apartment.
According to the FBI complaint, Danton and his housemate had a heated argument last week about Danton's "promiscuity and alcohol use".
Danton reportedly begged the man not to "ruin his career" by reporting his behaviour to the manager of the St. Louis Blues organisation. He also was troubled that the housemate who is vaguely described in the complaint "was going to leave him."
Some media outlets reported that Danton may have been motivated by a threat to out him as a gay man to the team's management. But Danton's agent, Dave Frost, said the player suffers from depression and mental health problems, and is not gay.

Again short handed with Linn still on the injured list, Doug Stevenson unavailable and Paul Campbell suspended from a junior game infraction, we went in with a very short bench. Adding to this was the fact that Grandy, Smith, Geraghty and Dalton were all running late for the game.

Welcome to Scott Drevitch’s Play Like A Pro Hockey Camps.
For Boys and Girls, Ages 5 and Up, From House to Travel Players I have designed the Play Like A Pro hockey camps to be informative, challenging, and fun for players of all ages and skill levels. We separate the players into small groups based on age and ability levels. This allows our coaching staff to focus on each and every players individual needs. Doing our specially designed drills with high repetitions and hard work, all players skill levels will be challenged. Players will be challenged to do drills at top speeds so that they get out of their own comfort zone thus raising their skill level. Our coaches will work on players weaknesses as well as their strengths to improve their overall play. I started my hockey camps (in 1995) because I wanted to pass on the knowledge I have acquired over the years, to the kids who love the game of hockey and wanted to improve their skills. I have been playing and studying the game of hockey for thirty-two years (15 professionally) and have been fortunate to have been taught by some of the best college and professional coaches the game has to offer. I enjoy working with kids and it is a thrill for me to be able to pass along the knowledge, skills, and little tricks of the trade that I have learned in my career.
